Solo rider on SDMT?

We ride all the time and end up spliting the party since 3 want back and 1 wants front. It depends on the situation to whether a stranger is sat with both singles. DS9 would rather sit out than sit with a stranger so I ask that no one be sat next to him. It has always been honored.

I haven't seen them allow empty seats. And I have to say, I think it is a bit rude to request no one be seated next to you.

I can understand a child's request being honored. An adult's probably would not be honored. :)

I've also always been seated with a solo when traveling with an odd numbered party. I can see where they would want to fill the cars as much as possible. The only thing I don't necessarily like about this is that it means you have a stranger sitting with your family in the ride photo. When your family is split between more than one car, it doesn't really matter, but if you're in one car, then it would have been kind of fun to have a ride photo of just the family. Oh well...that's just the way it goes!

We went 3 times in may (party of 3) only once did I ride alone (son wanted to sit with my husband each time). The only reason I did not have someone placed next to me was because it was immediately following a ride closure and they were trying to load the FP onto the trains as quick as they could-as it had been down all morning they clearly we're anticipating getting slammed and just trying to load the cars as quick as they could.

My friend was pregnant and went through the FP line with me, but then didn't ride (I'm disabled so she helped me in/out and waited with my ECV) I guess because we went through as 2 they didn't have time to find a stranger for me to sit with.

They have been asking how many in your party then splitting you into different lines, I assume even and odd. I believe they are feeding odd groups together to let the odd people be paired.

Our first trip through I was seated with a member of another odd sized party.

Our second trip through I asked to sit in the back and I ended up sitting by myself.

I've heard they will let children ride solo if they don't want to ride with a stranger (my brother has 3 younger children so he and his wife ride with 2 and one child by themselves). I wouldn't think they'd let an adult ride solo though since it's such a busy ride. They probably should institute a single rider line for this similar to Everest and Rock N Rollercoaster.
