I finally have a chance to go to WDW on my 25th birthday in May, which I have been dreaming of doing but haven't quite figured out how to swing it until now and the best part is I may be able to do it Solo! This will be my first time going solo. (I have been trying to go on a solo trip for awhile now, but there always seems to be someone wanting to go with me!). My question to you guys are. What special things can I do at disney on my birthday that are not to miss, especially going solo? The demographics are as follow.

I will have a Premium annual pass (Birthday present from the family) since I will be moving to florida in september (the first part of the trip is actually to find housing and interview for jobs).

7 nights at Pop Century (if budget will allow)

Going the second week of May

I will not only be celebrating my birthday, but also graduating from University and starting my career!!

I have heard of the birthday button and fully intend to get this! Sorry this is so long, I am just super excited with so many questions! I am sure there will be more to come! Thanks everyone

wow you have alot to celebrate!!! :thumbsup2

remember to check the passholder site for the best rates (but wait - WDW did away with their best pass guaranteed)

www.disneyworld.com/passholder

May is the flower/garden festavial at Epcot - very pretty - if you like any growing things go to it!!! :lmao: :bounce:

I am considering going solo over my birthday too! I am going to take myself out to a fabulous dinner, maybe take a guided tour, and just generally do whatever I want to on my day. Just think about something you have always wanted to do at Disney, but never have, and go do it!

I love going to WDW for my birthday, and I also love going solo! I went on the "Hidden Treasures of World Showcase" tour one year on my birthday, and I wore the "Today is my birthday" button! :) I've also done a character meal on my birthday...very fun!

Thanks so much for your encouragement and suggestions. I had never even considered the possibility of a solo trip until I found this forum. :grouphug: It seems to be the perfect fit! I love going with friends and family, but due to time restraints, there are always things I never get to do. I have a feeling this may be the first of many solo trips especially since I will be moving to Florida! I plan on spending a day to check out some of the other resorts, any suggestions on which ones to go to. Do any have tours? Also which character meal resturant is the best for birthdays and solo? Dining alone will be a brand new experience for me, but I am sure I will do just fine. So many questions, so excited :Pinkbounc I also like the thought of doing a tour. If I had the choice of just one, which one should I choose. hmm :yay:

Well...my birthday character breakfast was at 1900 Park Fare, but I think the Crystal Palace is my favorite. The "Keys to the Kingdom" tour is another great one - especially if you love the Magic Kingdom. It includes lunch at Columbia Harbor House.

these are free:

BC/yC/BCV have a tour of their gardens.

WL/VWL and AKL have a tour of their resorts.

OKW use to have a tour of its garden on Wednesday - but I heard it was cancelled.

there are a bunch of tours that WDW does:
here is a list

Hubby and I will be taking our first solo trip in 10 years, for my 35th B-day. Just a long weekend get-away! 4 nights at All Star Music...great passholder deal! I can't wait. Hoping to catch the Everest Passholder Preview while we are there, and hook up with some friends there for their 2nd Anniversary. :cool1:

I'm going solo on my birthday this year too! Unfortunately it's my 40th birthday and not my 25th.

Have a great time!

I would love to tour WL & AKL. Where do you find out about their tours?

Thanks.

I'll be celebrating my b-day at WDW this summer too!! It'll be a solo trip, and shorter than originally planned, but I'm sure it'll be lots of fun. Haven't thought of what I'll be doing yet though, so I can't wait to hear everyone's suggestions. Most all my trips I plan a little get together with people from the different online groups I belong to and always have a blast. Was thinking of maybe booking a Wishes or IllumiNations cruise and inviting people to celebrate with me.

Cheers!

Funny you mention going for your 25th Birhtday in May...I'm considering a solo trip for my 25th in May. Now if I could only decide on dates for the trip I would be all set!

Also if your budget allows check out the tours that are offered at the various theme parks. I have taken a few and they are very informative and fun.

Wow, I am surprised to here there are so many that go solo on their birthdays!

Maybe we could celebrate together on a tour or something! I will be going around the end of the first week to the second week of may! :cool1:

I sit here ready to leave in 20 minutes!! DH took me out to dinner last night (2/4) and gave me my gift--a quick getaway to WDW! My bday is tomorrow (2/6) so I'll be in the MK for my birthday. A dream come true! What a wonderful DH.

Of course several people at church this morning asked me if I was OK with going alone...

I need this more than you know! I homeschool my four kids and am facing mid-year burn-out. This will perk me up right away (I'm not sure what it will do for THEM, however :lmao: )

I'll have my DIS button and ribbon...

Boy, I can't believe all of you doing birthday solo trips!!! I did mine last August and thought I was totally insane.

What I did:
I splurged and went to the Dolphin and got a balcony room where I could see the fireworks at Epcot on my balcony each night.
I got a Today's-my-Birthday button at MK and wore it every night even tho the Wednesday was the legitimate one.
I went to Broadwalk and got the best piece of cake at their great bakery for my birthday cake and they wouldn't let me out of the bakery until they sang Happy Birthday to me!!
I traveled in the front of the monorail and received my official Monorail driver certificate.
I got my picture taken with Stitch - my favorite Disney character.

So as you can see I did lots of inner-child type stuff and had a great time.
You get lots of attention with the Birthday button on so expect it!!!!! Ely

That would be fun...I love the tours! I'm waiting to see how much the AP discounts will be before I book my trip, but I think I have narrowed it down for 8 days or so sometime between April 25-May 6.

That is exciting! Looks like we may be there around the same time. Keep me posted on your dates and I will keep you with mine. I am waiting to hear back from my future employers to see about specific dates! I can't wait all I want to do is book it. It is so hard waiting

If I book with the AP discount using my AP voucher, will my AP be activated on that date or when I first enter the park? Just curious and wanted some clarification. Thanks

Sounds Good

To have your AP activated you will need to go to Ticket Sales/orGuest Relations at one of the theme parks or DTD. They will need to see your photo id and then take your exchange certificate and then print you up an Annual Pass.

I posted a trip report today (2/10). It was a wonderful birthday trip. All you birthday soloists--don't be embarrassed to ask for a birthday pin. No one will make you uncomfortable at all. You'll have a great time. I sure did. :thumbsup2
