Hello! Has anyone done seats and sweets solo? I have a trip in November. I’m not doing either of the holiday parties but considering the fireworks party. I normally don’t stay for fireworks on solo trips because I hate fighting the crowds. Will I have any issues with seating if I’m solo? Thanks!

Given that you’ll be solo, you’ll likely get a seat right up front as they are lined with two-tops. You will be seated as your own table and I’m sure you’ll have nice neighbors who will keep watch while you get up and grab food and drinks. Have fun!

I have not done that one. I’ve done the original pre fireworks one pre-Covid where it was a bit more of a free for all. And recently did the post-fireworks one. This one (and I am assuming the other two) have assigned seating where they show you to a table. I enjoyed myself solo. Only complaint between my experiences was there was more savory stuff pre-COVID compared to now.

I have done a few fireworks parties solo. I don’t like leaving my wallet at a table, so I have learned to wear a fanny pack so I can keep my valuables on me when I go up to get snacks. Sometimes I make temporary friends to chat with, other times I haven’t. I’ve done them mainly to avoid the crowds, so I’ve been happy with my experiences. Food is always okay, but it’s rare there is something stellar to eat.

I have done the post-fireworks party solo. They put up a “reserved” sign on the table when they seated me. I took a light sweater and placed it on the back of my chair (as I do when I dine at the buffet at Boma) to mark my territory and so I don’t have to remember/guess which table is mine.

Oh ok thank you. I was thinking more if I didn’t have someone holding my spot while grabbing a dessert. I wasn’t sure how it works.

I’ve been going solo for almost 20 years (the highlight of my year which I try not to tell my husband too many times  ) and I wonder the same thing. Especially on a cruise where I have no need to carry anything extra. Even at a quick serve I’ve occasionally asked someone to watch my food so it won’t get cleared when I’m getting a beverage refill.

No problem. Here’s a YouTube vid that shows you how it works

Have fun.
Helpful video, thanks. $114 :faint:

Hey, somebody’s gotta make those donuts🤣
For about 20 bucks more you can get view, drinks, food and dessert @ CG.🤷🏽‍♀️
I know reservations can be hard to get, but that’s a good idea.

Question. How are you notified it’s fireworks time? I’ve been to CG twice. The first time with my family, we were seated in the Wine Room, and were not alerted to fireworks starting. Second time I was solo, and maybe made the mistake of saying yes when the server asked if I’d been there before. What I remember is looking up at some point, realizing the place was empty, but not knowing where to go. Should the server have told me? Is there a signal I missed? Was I just destined not to see them?

On another note, for $114 wondering what kind of haul I could make at Boardwalk Deli? Add a bottle of wine, and catch the fireworks on YouTube ::yes::

I’ve found that the servers often encourage you to view the fireworks from the observation deck and point out the access doors. At least they always have done for me, it’s a bummer that yours did not :( . If it’s not mentioned, just ask! They expect it and will happily pause your dinner until you return.

Unfortunately there is really no signal alerting you when to move outside — but check the app to see when the fireworks begin, and try to stay aware of the time during dinner. Head out a few minutes early. You want a spot on the rail, and it can get crowded by start time. If it’s chilly, definitely bring a coat because the wind is extra cold up there!

I’ve done both FW parties (not solo) and CG (solo and with a group). Both are fun, but to me dining at CG is much more enjoyable for the $$. Being served a top-notch app, dinner, and dessert by a skilled waiter is SO much better than having to queue up for mediocre drinks and tiny desserts that might run out! Plus, it’s easy to catch a taxi or Uber from CR afterward and miss the crowds altogether.

FWIW, the last time I dined there I scored the reservation that same night on my way in from the airport. Someone must have canceled last-minute. So keep checking!

Love the fireworks but have found the food is not great or worth the money. Really paying for the seat and view which of course is great.
