Would you feel safe as a woman staying alone at SSR? Would all sections (not including treehouses) feel equally safe? Are the hallways covered but open-air? Would a non-ground-floor room feel safest? Thanks for your kind opinions.

We just stayed there last month and felt safe at the resort. It is a very big resort - we were so happy to have a car. We were on the 4th floor - but I think they are all the same for safety. There were always people walking around especially workers. The hallways are covered but open air. It was a nice resort just too large for us. We were in the Springs section so we were able to walk to go the Carriage House (Check in) in about 5 minutes which wasn't bad but some of the other sections are far. The Carriage House is also where the Artist's Palette restaurant was.
Enjoy!

Thanks a lot for your reply. Nice to hear that you felt safe. Luckily, I will have a car.

I stayed by myself last summer for a week and never felt unsafe at all. Even returned from late night park trips several times. I was on second floor but would have felt fine on ground floor too. Dont forget to spend some "alone time" at the spa too!

That's great to hear, CarInne! Thanks for weighing in. I've never really craved the spa experience, though a massage could be nice. Will think about your recommendation.

SSR is definitely safe in my book. We just spent a week here (packing the car as I type) and I had a lot of time to myself as the BF spent a ton of time on the golf course. It way daylight all of those times, but even at night, I'd totally feel comfortable on my own.

I stayed solo at SSR for a few days once, and I felt totally safe. On the solo trip, I didn't have a car so I relied on walking and taking buses. I'm pretty cautious when traveling by myself, but I never felt uneasy or unsafe at all. I'd gladly go solo there again sometime. :)

I can only answer your last question. When I travel solo, I always put in a request for a non-first floor room. Only once did I get any hassle when they assigned me a main floor room and told me that it was safe. I just feel more comfortable sleeping solo when I'm not on the first floor.

I think I'll be the same way. Going to request upper floor. Thanks for your input.
