Solo Disney Trip

I am thinking about doing a solo trip this fall to DL...have always gone with my husband but...not sure if that will ever happen again. i understand the alone feeling, but hopefully when you go it will be a great time. It is the most welcoming happy place!

My husband is NOT a Disney guy, that's why I refer to him as "nDH" (non-Disney Husband). He 'cheerfully' goes to WDW (per our 'system'), but not to DL (long story). As you can tell if you read my post above, going solo is not my 'preferred method'. But solo Disney is better than no Disney. My suggestion would be that any first solo visit be for 1-2 days to see if it's really for you.

I swear, there needs to be a 'Disney pal up' group for those of us who have no Disney fans in our families!

I vaguely remember a DIS group from a few years ago where solo travelers would meet up in park, but I don't know if anyone is doing that anymore.

I actually am considering treating myself to a solo trip next year! Saving up for solo stuff, and being able to do things that are just way out of budget for my family of 7 really appeals to me, and DH would happily forgo a trip. He enjoys how much I enjoy it, but it really isn't his ideal vacation - he'd rather beach bum it!

I would totally pal up with you or another Disney sistah. I don’t like large groups but I also need somebody to scream with on rides. As long as I get to go back to my own hotel room at night! I also love sitting at the bar with a friend and chatting with the friendly bartender.

I would join that!

I would love to go alone. My last DLR trip was with my sister, and we split up a lot. I love rollercoasters. She does not.
It was during that trip that I decided to take my kids one at a time. Almost alone, but not quite.

One day I will go completely alone. DH is not a Disney fanatic. He says he has a business trip to LA later this year, and I may end up going along and heading over to DLR for a day or two.

ETA: I asked DH if we should do more days at Disney World, when we go for my Mom's birthday next year, or Universal. He chose Universal. It's almost painful to consider spending "only" 4 days at Disney, and a WHOLE 3 days at Universal. If my 8 year old wasn't completely OBSESSED with Harry Potter right now, it would not be happening.
