Going to be at WDW and parks for a few days before my family arrives. Does anyone have any restaurants they like to go to for solo dining?

Try some of the lounges! At most, you can sit at the bar and order off the full restaurant menu or they have a menu of their own.

Crew's Cup, Nomad Lounge, Tune In Lounge, Geyser Point to name a few!

I think anywhere you want to go would be good. I have done at lease two solo trips. I remember doing the SciFi Dine In, Chefs De France, Nine Dragons, Yak and Yeti and even 'Ohana. All were fine as a solo diner. I know some people are put off by dining alone but I enjoyed it.

I go out to eat alone a lot and usually always have something to read (besides my phone - magazines are great since you don't need one hand to hold it open like a book while you eat) and often eat at the bar.

I'm doing a solo trip next month and have Chefs de France, Boathouse and San Angel Inn booked. Planning on sitting at the bar at Boathouse and just regular table the other two. I don't think it's a huge deal.

When I travel solo for work I like to find places like Geyser Point that have things to watch and a place to relax. Outside seating is prefered unless its hot as the sun. I think where I enjoy it the most is when the staff have the time to talk and interact, if they are so busy just getting food to tables it's not as enjoyable. For that reason I tend to go to bars or someplace where the food itself interests me.

It's tough to get a reservation for Space 220 but if you arrive exactly at park opening as a solo and get in line, should be easy to get a spot at the bar/lounge.

Downside of trying to book solo table service is that Disney's algorithm will often block you unless you request an ADR for two. But definitely try places that look interesting to you.

Convenience matters at Disney.

Resort-to-Resort is not easy if you only use Disney transportation.

Therefore, think in clusters - like Monorail-Loop, Boardwalk, Disney Springs - that are most convenient to your hotel.

Nearly all the Disney resort lounges are solo friendly. Disney Springs is superior. Disney Parks, not so much.

Anywhere you can get an ADR. If you aren't used to dining alone, practice it at home somewhere you are used to going to. Otherwise, have at it. You will probably have to look for an ADR for two in order to book but just do it then tell the person when you get there you are only one. I go solo at least once a year (have a trip coming up Dec. 12 solo) and have never had a problem dining anywhere solo. If lounges are your thing: Nomad Lounge is great, a must do for me solo or with my son. HBD outside lounge is great, again a must do for me. If you are there during a festival just snack around the world, all my suppers usually come from doing that and a lot of my lunches.

I've done lounges, signature dining, QS solo and enjoyed all of them.
I would go where you want to dine and enjoy.

LOUNGES! River roost in POR is amazing! Abracadabar at BW is amazing! Never been but one day I will get my butt over to both Enchanted Rose at GF and Geyser Point at WL
Any of the restaurants with bars in DS would be great

Yeah. Any of them. Book a table through the app/website for 2 to find open availability. Check open table for Disney Springs restaurants.

I eat solo in signature places very well. Sitting quietly at a table enjoying my drink or food is relaxing.

At a busier place like any of the Epcot world showcase restaurants where it is loud and lots of talking, I feel more out of place sitting quietly by myself.

Bars that work for me... Geyser Point, Homecomin', City Works Pour House, ESPN when open. The times I've been solo, these all have had very good bartenders, solid food, and a pretty friendly atmosphere to have a conversation.

I like any restaurant that has a window-side table (or tank-side at Coral Reef )Or Sci-Fi, where it feels like just watching TV while you're eating. Although I'm not interested in visiting with character meals, I love character meals for the people watching. Come to think of it, that's pre-Covid. I loved Narcoose's right at opening. Had a window side table, where I could watch the boats go by while sipping my Margarita before dinner.

Any restaurant is great - I personally avoid group seating situations like Biergarten or the they-cook-at-table place in Japan, but that is me. And I absolutely refuse to relegate myself to lounges or bars. I pay just as much for my admission and I work just as hard to get my ADRs. I have every right to an actual table if I've been able to get an ADR or use the walk-up (always put in 2...the system has known glitches for 1).

you're assuming that an actual table is preferable or somehow of less value than sitting at a bar, or the bar is the default option for solo diners. It's not, and it's fun to chat with the bartenders if they are not too busy, and watch them mix drinks. It is correct that the Disney reservation algorithm is much more likely to return a table for two than a table for one.

And me too! I once got seated next to a teenager at Teppen Edo, Japan, whose worst nightmare seemed to be being seated next to a stranger while she was on vacation with her PARENTS!!! After that, I decided I'd rather be solo than to wish I was!

Agree- back home my partner and I often prefer sitting at the bar at restaurants.
