Solo dining recommendations

I'll be in WDW on Thursday and Friday this week (traveling through Orlando, and couldn't resist stopping at the world for a couple of days). I won't be with the family, so I was wondering about solo dining options. I know that you can eat solo anywhere, but are there any places that have special appeal?

Doesn't Cali Grill have a food bar or something where you can watch the action in the kitchen? Something along those lines?

I was solo for a few days last week before a business conference.

The restaurants that I thought were great for a solo diner:

Sci Fi--If you are skittish about dining solo, this is a good option because it's dark, and the car seats are perfect for a solo diner.

Flying Fish--They have a chef's counter, and it was the best customer service and food I've had a Disney (California Grill is up there for food for me, but I never ate there solo.)

The Plaza (MK)--If you get a seat by the window, there is plenty to watch as people go by!

I also ate at Kona, Boma, Rose and Crown, and Yak and Yeti. I liked different things about all these restaurants, and will probably go back to each one day but I wouldn't say they have specific solo appeal. (At least for me!)

I do the bars and counters. People have been asking about them lately - with the difficulties in getting ADRS- so I keep a list.

California Grill lounge – full menu available
Tune In Lounge (adjacent to Prime Time Café) – full menu available
Jiko – full menu at bar
Raglan Road – full menu at bar
Gurgling Suitcase – full Olivia’s menu available at bar
Rainforest Café – full menu at bar
Yak & Yeti – full menu at bar
Citricos – Full menu is available at counter/bar seating inside restaurant. I believe that you can order some Citricos dishes from Mizners lounge.
Rose & Crown – pub menu (cheese and fish & chips available at the bar - saw a menu just last weekend and they seem to have removed the cheese though)
Flying Fish – full menu at counter seating

Turf Club – appetizer menu at bar
Tambu Lounge – appetizer menu at bar (selections from Kona)
Territory Lounge – appetizer menu at bar
Martha’s Vineyard Lounge – appetizer menu at bar
Rix Lounge – appetizer menu at bar
Bluezoo – bar/café menu (limited selections, no desserts)
Crockett’s Tavern – food available
River Roost – appetizer menu at bar
Crew’s Cup Lounge – appetizer menu at bar
The Wave – appetizer menu at bar

Should the sushi bar at the Polynesian (open during dinner hours) be included in that list?

I agree about Sci-Fi. You dine in cars that have three rows of two seats (there are other types of tables too, but it's mostly this), so it's perfect for one person, and kind of inconvenient for a whole family.

I also suggest Wolfgang Puck Express, just because I refer everyone there. It's quick service but it's gourmet and some of the best food i've ever had on property. I ate there solo once and it was great.
