Solo Adventures in Asia Nov 2025 - First Timer's Travels to Hong Kong & Shanghai

Thanks for the additional info. I believe you are right. The airline is also partially responsible here because they were required to verify your entry requirements upon check-in. It looks like sadly they made the same mistake as you did. I can imagine it was a costly, time-consuming and uncomfortable situation you found yourself in. So sorry for you!

Again, I am super happy you didn't let that discourage you and that they remained friendly and professional the whole time and invited you to come back the next day with everything sorted out. Glad you still had fun at Shanghai Disney. Looking forward to the rest of your trip report. :)

Sarah, I really enjoyed reading this. Your writing honestly made me feel like I was traveling with you for a moment. It’s refreshing when someone shares their trip without trying to make everything look perfect just real experiences as they happened.

I totally get what you mean about going solo. I’ve traveled that way a few times and it hits differently. You don’t have to compromise, you don’t wait for anyone, and you end up noticing all the little details in the parks that you’d miss in a group.

Your HK + Shanghai plan sounds amazing, especially staying at both Disney hotels. I’m curious what changed in Shanghai can’t wait for the full update. Sometimes the unexpected parts end up being the story you remember the longest.

Also, your comment about selfies made me laugh I’m the same. Half the time I take the picture just so I don’t regret not taking one later joy
