So seriously, very limited availability 12/9-12/13, none on property. Thank goodness I made reservations at BWPPI last April, but what gives? Are the parks going to be an absolute madhouse?

It's not like NAMM or anything but there is a large hospital pharmacy conference that week at the Anaheim Convention center. The rates for the on site hotels thru the conference were incredible (I got GCH for $220/nt, DLH was $189 etc) so that may account for some of it.

Make sure to check all the booking sites. We decided to go December 3-7 and almost every site had all the hitels booked. But we were able to get one at the Carousel Inn on Orbitz.

Eta: didnt see you had a reservation. But just fyi to anyone else!

Yes, I found this as well.
I was only checking on property, but weekend of 12/5 was completely sold out.
I was able to book (this week) weekend of 12/12 at GH.

I think weekends are super busy because of the holiday decorations and people make annual trips to see all of it.

Weekend of 12/5 is also Candlelight Processional

We're going midweek, I'm just wondering/concerned about how busy/crowded the parks are going to be. We picked this week because it's supposed to be less crazy, but I'm not so sure that's going to be the case now.

We will be there the 8-12th and I'm worried about the same thing. Regardless I'm going in with a game plan (not a rigid schedule but something to keep us moving and not stopping to say, "what should we do?") and keeping my fingers crossed for the best.

Just our group is 13 people so its already TOO crowded if you ask me. ;) Got to love when extended family starts to join the party!

I have flex plans, but def have a schedule. Day 1 DCA, day 2 DL Fantasyland, Toontown & Tomorrowland, then DL NO Square, Frontierland, and Adventureland the third day. Few, if any "fast" rides, due to the ages of the littles, I just hope to not be spending all day in lines...

Maybe that's it. Those rooms have had VERY limited availability since very early on. I started a thread on it a couple months ago. There's no way they were just sold out. But if they removed a huge block for a conference, it makes a little more sense.

When they do that sort of thing, are there ever "leftovers" they put back into inventory?

I don't know how any unused rooms in the block are handled. But I can tell you that the deadline to book thru the conference is 11/13. However, except for one night here and there, the DLR hotels are already sold out thru the conference... In fact, my GCH reservation was originally 'wait listed' pending release of additional rooms but I did get the booking. That was about two weeks ago.

The weekend blocks are sold out at the Disney resorts even to the Pharmacy Conference blocks. as PP pointed out the Deadline to book is 11/13 so they will most likely free up weekday rooms after that.

Right now the only weekend rooms available to the conference are at the Motels so don't expect much to open up for Dec 6th and 7th.

I would just love to get 2 or 3 of our nights discounted. We're finally going to get an AP, but can't even get an onsite room discount. :(

We are going Dec. 6-7 and I'm a little worried because of all the hotels being sold out.....and we knew going into the planning it was CP weekend. Oh well, hope for the best but prepare for the worst! I foresee a lot of gingerbread cookies and people watching if it is crazy, and I don't think my kids would mind that ;)
