I am trying to research SOG weddings. I found out recently that my future husband is eligible because he works for DoD. All they have on thier site is the intimate package and we have more than 14 people. I found one trip report on here but that is all. I have requested more info from the resort, but am the least patient person on the planet. If anyone has any info they would be willing to share I would appreciate it greatly! TIA!

They are so reasonable. The Gazebo rental is around $500, a full banquest room is $500 and their menus range from $10pp to $37pp. You can pretty much do what ever you want decor wise except do anything permanent to the structure. THey also rentals like CD players and projection screens.

We're having a SOG wedding.

We're paying $200 for the gazebo for about 50 people. You can have up to 300 for the gazebo location, but the price varies depending on how many people you are inviting.

They've been really great to work with. If you call them, it's usually easier and faster to get all the info you need.

If you're not doing the intimate wedding then you pretty much have to do the leg work yourself with finding vendors. They have a list of preferred vendors, but it's not as easy as the intimate wedding package. It's basically like planning a regular wedding (not like DFTW who does most of the work for you).

The only part I'm finding tricky is the room block. If you want your guests to stay at the hotel, you'll need sponsors for the rooms.

Do you have any specific questions that maybe I can help answer?

I would love to see some menus and get an idea of costs. We are looking at around 50 people and are thinking a brunch and then a dessert party that evening. I guess I need to contact them directly since I still haven't heard back from my request.

As for rooms, we wouldn't have enough sponsors to stay at the resort so most will book thier own accomodations where ever they want to stay.

I never thought we would be able to afford a Disney wedding, but it looks like SOG will make it afforadable enough for us to make it happen :banana::banana:

A few brides have mentioned that since an SoG wedding is not a DFTW they require you to meet the 12k minimum if you want to stay in your wedding attire. If you're willing to switch to plain clothes you should be ble to have one through Disney acted events.

We would not be remaining in our wedding attire. It would be a very casual event for us. Mainly a thank you to our guests for traveling for our wedding. We are having an at home reception too so I can wear the dress again if i want. Haven't decided yet.
