SOG - Richard Petty Driving Experience

We will be staying at SOG this November and purchasing our hoppers when we get to SOG since we can not buy them up here.

I want to send my husband to the Richard Petty Driving Experenience as a 40th birthday gift to him. It will be a surprise. I asked SOG if I can please prepurchase and this was their response:

"The Richard Petty driving experience can be arranged once you arrive, you will need to present your military ID in person. The prices range from $95. to $425. "

The prices are cheaper (although I should double check) than the RPDE website, so I definetly want the savings, but, these things sell out and I don't want to risk him not being able to go. Every time we go to Disney he comments that next time he should just do it.

Anyone have any ideas?

If your getting your husband the "ride along" experience, you should'nt have a prob. booking it the the day you arive. The "driving" experience does fill up because you are required to take a half-day class with limited seating. You should still be able to book what you want if you do so the day you arrive.

You might want to call the RPDE ressie number and ask if they have military discounts. You might get the SOG prices directly from them this way.

My DH just did the Rookie Experience and loved it! We ordered the ticket through underground tourist (with the mousesaver discount) it was $350. You need to be on the mousesaver mailing list to get the discount. It only comes out once a month on the 15th so sign up before then and you'll get the discount for May.

My DH still talks about it. It was his favorite ride!
