We are eligible for SOG as my husband is 100% disabled vet. I'm going to WDW in June with three pre-teen/teen girls as my treat. We planned to stay at All-Star Music due to budget but found a kind DVC member who is renting points for BWV for five nights at a wonderful price. It will help greatly as one of the girls has PKU and the fridge and microwave will help a ton. We may still stay at ASMu for a night either before or after the BWV stay in order for the girls to do all the things they want to do. Here's my question finally: Can I buy Stars and Stripes (what I understand is essentially length of stay) passes since we'll be staying at two different resorts, neither of which are SOG (or the garden wing at the Contemporary)? With changing resorts and one being DVC rather than regular Disney resort I'm wondering.

I know I can call SOG but the wait time for an answer can get loooonnngg and Disers seem to know the "skinny".

Thanks,
Mary Alice

We will be staying at the Dolphin in Dec/Jan but we will go over to the sog office at the CR to buy our los passes. I don't think it matters where you stay just how many nights. We are staying six nights but are getting five day los passes. They will drop your first and last day if you need them too. I hope this helps some.

SoG has length of stay passes and 4 and 5 day hoppers. You don't even need to be staying on-site to purchase there, just be eligible for the military rate.

Travelitis... I thought you had to be staying on site to get the Stars and Stripes LOS passes, but not the 4 or 5 day hopper passes. Can you get the length of stay passes if you're staying off site?

For the hopper passes you do not have to stay at the SoG or Disney resort. But for the Stars and Stripes Length of Stay passes, you DO have to be staying at the SoG or Disney resort. I read this at www.shadesofgreen.org. Click on the "Attraction Ticket Prices" link on the right.

Now I don't know if the Swan and Dolpin qualifies as a Disney resort. You should call to be sure - SoG's number is 888-593-2242. Try to call early in the morning before the phone lines get backed up.

I don't know why the Dolphin wouldn't be considered a Disney hotel since it counts for EE and the transportation system. The Swan and Dolphin, while not owned by Disney, have always been on-site hotels as far as I know.

Here's that URL again, but clickable this time. For some reason it took the . at the end of NotTooGoofy's sentence as part of the URL.

Edit:

Also, there are non-Disney attraction prices (Universal, etc.) on Sheet 2 of the Excel worksheet.

AND, does anyone know if there is a bounceback price on the SoG one-day one-park tickets for a second day?

Yes, the Swan and Dolphin do qualify for the Stars and Stripes passes. I called Sog to see what the overflow rates were and to my surprise the overflow rate was higher than the rate the Swan and Dolphin were offering to military. SOG told me to just come to their office after we check in to purchase our los passes.
