Up to this point I have used a program called Comic Life, and it is basically drop and drag and adding text, and I want to become a little more advanced in my sign making. I also want to be able to work on my iBook G4 laptop while watching t.v. rather than at my desktop. I know that PhotoShop Elements 6 for mac is about to be released and I am wondering if it would do all I want to do, such as (and forgive me for not knowing the correct terminology) cutting out all the backgrounds and isolating one part of the picture; inserting photos into hollow fonts; adding some shadows, etc. Are these the kinds of things that can be done now in Elements or am I expecting too much.

I might also add that I have the full-blown PhotoShop at my disposal, but there seems to be so much to learn before you can really get started. I get the impression that Elements is not quite as complicated to learn.

Yes it will do everything you want.

There are some great easy to use tutorials out there on the web as well.

Well, I am thinking I just might have to go ahead and pre-order. thanks for your response.

OMG if I had full fledged Photoshop at my disposal I would be in hog heaven!!! I am test driving Photoshop CS3 and it is a dream. So easy to use and fun to use. I also have Photoshop 5, which I enjoy and find very simple, but not as versatile as the CS3. I have never used PS Elements, but I can't imagine that it's much easier than regular PS but it is more restrictive, from what I understand.

Just my 2 cents.
