Soft sided cooler as a Carry On

I was planning on putting my toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, etc...) in a soft sided cooler, so if it spills, it is leak proof and nothing else gets ruined. I want to carry it on since it will also have some breakables in it, such as my glasses. Will there be any problems in doing so, if they can open it and make sure that's all there is in it and as long as it meets the size requirements?

If it is a sof-sided cooler and fits in the x-ray machine, you'll be fine.

If you are flying make sure it fits in the overhead bin! My sister's fit the x-ray machine but not under the seat or overhead and she ended up having to check it anyway.

We took a soft sided cooler on wheels with us this past March. We took it on the plane and it fit in the overhead compartment. When we got to Florida we stopped for wine and soda and were able to wheel it right on board. It did go through the x-ray machine, but other than that we were not asked to open it.

I am planning on taking a 54 can soft cooler on wheels as a carry-on......has anyone used this size without problems?

Ethelina, we used one we got at Costco for our cruise in Jan 02. It was a 54 can cooler and we had no problems.
