We will be at DL from Nov 1-6. I know holidays aren't in full swing. Just wondering how likely it is we could see the DL tree and maybe a soft opening of IASW? I know IASW is supposed to open Nov 8, but have never seen the overlay so I'm hoping!

I was wondering the exact same thing and posted something similar at the beginning of the week. From what I understand there are even some Christmas decorations up a little bit now and it's goes up over the period we are going so there is bound to be some.

Also the other day someone responded to my dates saying that ABC tapes the Christmas day parade on Nov. 3rd

so I'm going to bet it's definitely going to have some holiday appearance of some kind.

Thanks for responding! I knew about the parade taping, hoping to catch it. Going to wear holiday clothes in hopes to be able to see it.

My understanding from reading tons of posts is Main Street has minimal decorations up for the parade but no tree and the castle isn't lit up and IASW is closed for the Christmas over lay until the 8th. I've heard about soft openings before. Just wondering if its likely IASW could soft open by the 6th and if maybe the tree will be up.

Last I saw IASW doesn't open til the 9th. And the holiday fireworks begin the 9th as well. I think some people have mentioned that the castle isn't lit up until that first show, but I've never been during that time so I'm not sure. The official start isn't until the 12th so the 9th seems like that kind of IS the soft open.

I'm with you though. We're there during the same time and I've had my fingers crossed since booking that a fair amt of holiday decor will be up before we leave.

DL has done the IASW overlay for may years and knows how long it will take to put up and take down. You can always hope but the the reality is it is unlikely to open early.
