Haven't seen any info on the sched. opening for Small World? Soft or AP preview dates? I hated this ride - till I was over 30... Now I have missed it the last 2 trips! Kinda wishing they revamp the whole thing... and scared they really will and mess it all up! Allways loved the costumes on the dolls from each country, the real reason I now love the ride,( did you think I missed the SONG !!!)? Hope someone knows something. Thanks to all!

There hasn't been any real info about this yet. Which is suprising as it should be reopening soon.

Saw something on the website today that said either May 2 or 5, can't recall which. Either was after our next visit.

It's only supposed to be closed for rehab until March 17th I believe.
That's good news! I just hope they stay on schedule for our April 3 trip.

I heard March 17th too. There won't be soft openings or AP previews, because it was just a refurb of an existing ride. I'm hoping it stayed the 17th too, we'll be there on the 18th!

The official Disney site says that the ride CLOSED on May 2, 2004. That's probably where you got your date, DisneyBill.

As for re-opening, that's wait and see at this point. March 18th has been the date circulated for the last 9 months, but recent info indicates it may be pushed back a bit. The new Disney planning videos all say "Spring 2005", and the Disney web site now says that, too.

Again, wait and see...

But I do agree the likelihood of any "Soft" opening or preview is slim-to-nonexistent. The purpose of a soft opening is to test a new attraction with live guests, and to give the CMs some training time. Neither would seem to be necessary for a IASW.

This above, is correct. There won't be a soft opening since it's not a new attraction. I heard the 17th is the day, but others say the 18th, which is great since most are that close, I think we're looking at the correct 2 days.

We are starting a week at WDW on the 17th! I am so excited about my DD5 seing IASW that I just know I am going to cry!!! She will absolutely love it!! I will be soooo upset if she can't see it on her 1st trip!! Of course, then it gives us a good reason to go back sooner!! :cool1:

Although the entrance will look different with it being all white (similar to Disneyland's entrance), the ride itself shouldn't change that much. There were rumors that something might be done to the last scene (also the all-white room), but no one really knows.

The ride, in general, was looking old. Dolls weren't working, ceiling tiles were falling or missing. Plus, supposedly, there was asbestos in the ceiling which Disney wanted to remove. While they are changing some things, I think that the ride just needed a rehab in general.

Figures; our last day is March 16. Guess we'll have to start planning for the next trip!
