"Soft" foods at MK?

Let's say hypothetically, someone got a full mouth tooth extraction in mid January (surgery date delayed multiple times due to COVID issues). And, hypothetically, this person highly doubts their dentures will be complete and in-mouth for their end of March/early April MK visit.
Ok, yes, it's me and very much a reality.. But darn if its not embarrassing to admit you're toothless at 37 waiting on dentures 😫
I booked the surgery when I did specifically because I was told I'd be DONE with everything by the date of our vacation, but COVID messed up all my careful planning with OR delay after delay.
So, if I'm stuck toothless at Disney (:sad2::sad: ), are there any soft eats I can get excited about? Is CHH open yet? I'm so disappointed, I've been looking forward to this trip with beautiful new teeth and a great food experience, and now I genuinely just want to cry thinking about it.

Well, if Dole Whips are your thing, that’s soft.

And the alcoholic slushees at Epcot could be exciting.

might be good to stay away from caramel, however.

Hummus Is good. Sanaa might be of note.

The chefs at most TS locations, save those NOT run by Disney, can be pretty creative.

Simple solution--Explain your need to server. Order whatever sounds flavorful and appeals. Ask for it to be pureed in the blender.

Sure, you'll feel like an overgrown Gerber baby but will be able to eat what you want.

Well, Sci-Fi has some delicious adult milkshakes than even come with a glow cube...

Not that exciting but the CHH salmon (it's open) or Primetime's meatloaf might work if you cut it into small pieces and mush it against the roof off your mouth with your tongue. I had my wisdom teeth extracted as an adult and lived on soup, sherbet, yogurt and oatmeal for over two weeks. The high point was trying takeout meatloaf and mashed potatoes toward the end of my recovery.

I would plan on a grocery order with protein shakes just in case and some stone fruit purees to stay regular. It's a challenge to eat fiber while eating soft foods and pain meds slow everything down.

If you like sweets, Beach & Cream at YC/BC has a whole menu full of huge ice cream sundaes and shakes. They also have a good tomato soup. A lot of restaurants probably have good soups. The cheddar cheese one in Le Ceiller (Epcot) comes to mind.

Grand Floridian Cafe does the Strawberry Soup, that’s really good. Not in MK, but near.

I was in the same boat that you are in. Your situation was mine last May. I had temporary dentures for immediately after the extractions but they were awful! I ate double mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, chowders wherever I could find them...my case Beach Club marketplace and Flower and Garden booths. Pasta, lasagna, meatballs at Italian restaurants (Tratorria al Forno). I would also cut up things like cheeseburgers...without the lettuce and use a fork to eat small bites. Fish at Yorkshire fish and chips was good but I learned to carry a plastic knife as they don't have those. I also ordered turkey sandwiches, took out the turkey, chopped it up, added mayo and ate turkey salad sandwiches. Just make sure that the bites are small.
Are you getting post implants?

Since you asked specifically about MK-
- There are lots of places with smoothies, ice cream or slushies
- Columbia Harbour House has clam chowder and a milkshake
- Pecos Bills has yogurt
- Cosmic Ray's has mac & cheese
- Pinocchio's has tomato soup and yogurt
- Friar's nook has mac and cheese

If you are looking for a sit down restaurant, you can have the stuffing, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese at Liberty Tree Tavern/Diamond Horseshoe (same menu at both). You could probably cut some of the meat up tiny enough and eat it on its own or with the mashed potatoes. For dessert you could try the ice cream with chocolate and caramel sauces. Best of luck!

Thank you SO MUCH for all the replies!! I forgot about the yummy mac n cheeses around the park

Thankfully I'm beyond the point where I need everything blended or made into a smoothie. Definitely going to still miss some crunchy snacks, but I'm getting excited. Maybe this will help me try some new things too!

I was super irritated at first when my dentist said i shouldn't do temporary ones, but I've since heard mainly rough things about them! A few denture youtubers (shocked that's even a thing lol) had videos complaining about still having bleeding, swelling, and pain this far out. Besides a few tender areas if I attempt a food I probably shouldn't yet, I'm surprised how healed i am a few weeks out. I had everything done at once though, top bottom back and front. First week was ROUGH! :)

Some of the resorts QS have protein smoothies (AOA). The Boma buffet has lot of soup options.

The pineapple upside down cake with the dole whip at Aloha Aisle is pretty soft. There are also cake/icing sundaes offered at QS locations at HS. Pasta should be easy to find at various locations. Guacamole is only available at select Locations (HS Mexican QS, Pecos bill, Epcot Mexican QS)

Here is an old discussion on the topic:
