Anyone know how the sizing for the dresses runs? I've only bought DD the Disney dresses from TRU. I want to get her the Sophia dress, but I'm worried 18-24 months will be huge on her for our May trip. (And our only Disney store went out of business).

I have found Disney Store stuff runs small. I had to buy my 4 year old a 5/6 Merida dress for Halloween. Length wise it was too long as she is on the shorter size but the size 4 was really tight in the chest area.

My 19 month old wore a size 2/3 Minnie Mouse dress at Disney 2 weeks ago and its mid calf length on her. She didn't have any trouble with it except a couple of times going up stairs by herself. She is 32" tall/23.5 lbs if that helps you any :)

ETA: She also wore this dress at 17 months for Halloween also and walked around just fine in it.

If it helps, the 18-24 is just about the exact same size as the 2/3. I held them up and compared them. The biggest difference would be less than an inch in length, they looked exactly the same to me.

The sizing is really strange for a Disney Store dress! It is really long compared to the others we own. I have a 21 month old but she is petite & wears size 12-18 month clothes. We have a few 2/3 disneystore princess dresses & while they are still a little long on her they look okay & she wears them to Disney now. I originally bought the 2/3 Sofia dress thinking it would be the same size & allow for some growth. It was absolutely huge & she was swimming in it! I returned & bought 18-24. 18-24 is still really long on her but she is not tripping over it. The top part is the tightest I've ever seen on a Disney Store dress. It is okay on her petite body but I can not see a chunkier baby/toddler fitting into it comfortably. The 18-24 is maybe only an inch shorter than 2/3 but it's definitely quite a bit narrower. My daughter is 23 lbs, 32.5 inches tall & the size 18-24 months goes all the way down & touches the tops of her feet. The 2/3 was dragging on the floor & she was tripping on it. I held the 18-24 up to a 2/3 Belle dress in the store & the Belle dress was actually a little smaller.

All the replies were very helpful! Thank you :)

Good to know! Thank you. :)

I'm thinking the 18-24 will probably be a bit long at least now. She's a little over 20 lbs and maybe 31.5 inches. Our trip is in 4 months so hopefully she'll grow enough that she isn't tripping on it. Maybe I'll wait and see how tall she is by March and then order it.

We had a similar issue with the Cinderella dress we got from BRU (but was the "Disney" brand). It was pretty tight in the top too but super long (almost hit the ground). It was size 12 months (back in October when DD was 11 1/2 months). She is in the 80% percentile for height, but 20% for weight so I was really surprised the dress was made so weird.
