Sofa, couch, or davenport?

I was brought up on "Take your feet off the sofa", so, sofa it remains. But at my Aunt's house, it was "Take your feet off the couch". :confused3. To each his own!
 
My parents used to say davenport, but I use both couch and sofa.

The young ones on this thread will not be familiar with davenport.
It's an old term :teeth:

:confused3 I'm only 18 lol. "Get yer feet of the darn davenport!" That's how I know it. :rotfl:
 

I say couch usually, but sofa sometimes too. My grandparents used the term Davenport. I remember it was used exclusively to a couch in their front room that did indeed have exposed legs, all burgandy with a raised pattern, in like a loose loop. It belonged to my great grandmother.
