Getting ready to start shopping for some new furniture. One of the things we're replacing is a sofa bed I bought back in 1988. (You can imagine how comfortable it is to sleep in!) I find the newer model sofa beds used by DVC to be comfortable (for a pull-out, anyway.) Does anyone happen to know who manufactures them?

Several years ago it was called "American Leather", even though the couches aren't leather. I THINK the company might have changed their name to reflect the fact that much of their stock isn't leather stuff. I know that about 6-7 years ago, we bought a sofa-bed from them of the same style as the DVC resorts. Much more expensive, but oh, so worth it!

I just looked up American Leather and it looks like that is it. Good to know because we also wanted to get a new sleeper like the ones at WDW.

DVC has several different types of sofa couches, which one are you interested in.

I'm a little confused because the newer DVC resorts (AKV, BLT, VGC, and Aulani) have a different sofa bed than the DVC resorts built before 2009. So if American Leather was the company used several years ago it wouldn't necesarily apply to the newer sofa beds.

Ah, gee, Denise-you're making me feel so old;) This was what was used about 7 years ago, at least at OKW and HHI.

I was trying to think of a way to describe the one I was thinking about. It's the style where you grab the front of the mattress and walk straight back, and it unfolds like an accordian. Not the older style that you pull up and out, then unfold the lower part by flipping it over.

I've just been looking at the American Leather web site. Thank you, that's exactly what I was looking for! They even have them in King size, which is great!
