My cousin and I are looking at a cruise on the Dream next spring. When I was there last fall I thought the bed was the most bed I'd ever slept in. Are the sofa beds comfortable as well, or am I going to have to fight my cousin for the big bed?

Prepare to fight over the big bed, unfortunately. While no doubt suitable for kids, whatever mattress the sofas use is really no better than the floor. My stateroom also had a Murphy bed and a top bunk. I used the former, and it was a little bit better since it uses a real mattress. I suspect the top bunk would be similar; that's usually where I always sleep on cruises anyway. The big bed is a queen, though, so maybe you and your cousin wouldn't mind cuddling? :rotfl:

Regardless, the Dream is an absolutely blast! You'll have a great time ... I did, even when I wasn't sleeping so great!

That's what I was afraid of. We're good friends, so maybe she won't mind. Otherwise, I'm older by 10 years, so I guess I win the bed. :rotfl:

On my last cruise (Nov/Dream) I traveled with a friend and preferred having my own bed over sharing the queen. While the sofa bed was not nearly as plush as the queen, it was fine. I'm pretty picky about hard mattresses and I didn't find it uncomfortable at all.

I gave my mom the queen bed and I used the sofa bed on the Dream...while not the MOST comfortable and does not compare to the queen...it was fine and I enjoyed pulling the curtain and having my own cozy space.

I thought the sofa bed was just fine. Now the bunkbed, that is a different story.

For us it was the other way round, my daugter had to move into the queen bed, because my husband couldn't sleep there. After the first night he had severe back pains from the bed, it got better when he slept on the sofa bed.

i went with a friend a few years ago and took the sofa bed. she thought i was being nice and thanked me all week. the reality was that i found the sofa bed to be the most comfortable thing ever!
everyone is different, give it a try and if you don't like it switch, you will never know till you try.

It also depends on how tall you are and your sleeping habits. My dsis at 5'2" didn't have any issues sleeping on the sofa bed last week on the Dream. But I am 5'6" and couldn't stretch out and get comfortable on it.

There we go, I am several inches taller than she is (at 5'7") as well as being older. I have a whole arsenal of reasons to make her take the sofa bed. (And it sounds like she may be just as comfortable as in the bed.)

My 17 year old (5'4) loved the sofa bed! Good thing because there was no way she was going to get the big bed!! ;)
