Question for those who know about the pull-out sofa beds in Beach Club. DW and I take two other adult couple down to SSR (our home resort) where we get a DEDICATED two bedroom. What this allows is for one couple to be in the bedroom with a king bed, another couple gets a queen bed in the other bedroom and we take the other queen matress and put it on the pull-out sofa in the living room, which gives us all a very comfortable place to sleep. This year, we are thinking of trying to get Beach Club. However, it does not look like they have any dedicated two bedroom units, only lock-offs. Does anyone know, 1) Are there any DEDICATED two bedroom units at the Beach Club and 2) if not, how are the pull-out sofa beds in terms of comfort and can another "real" matress be rented from the resort? Thanks in advance for any ideas/thoughts.

There are definitely dedicated two-bedroom villas at BCV. You would have to specifically request this and get assigned this on your confirmation.

The sofa beds are fine, they seem more comfortable than the old ones.

I do not think you will be able to get a real mattress from mousekeeping, plus putting it on top of the sofa bed may actually hurt the furniture (don't know if those metal parts are designed to hold a big heavy mattress) and it might not fit.

If you can book 11 months out, you would have a great chance at a dedicated two bedroom. Sounds like you are using the 7 month window, in which case, there are very few dedicated two bedrooms and you would have to waitlist, most likely, with no guarantees.

you can not rent a real mattress, you can ask for an eggcrate topper to go on the sofa bed.

I am simply amazed though that you moved the mattress from the bedroom to the sofa bed. I really do not think the sofa bed frame is built to hold that extra weight. Do you leave it on the sofa bed all day, and not use the couch or do you move it back and forth, back and forth.

It is no wonder things are torn up at DVC, way too many people moving furniture around. :sad2:

There are 25 dedicated 2 BR units at BVC that have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom. They are very difficult to get unless you book at the 11 month window.

There are also dedicated 2 BR units that have 1 queen and a pull out sofa in the second bedroom, but only have one entry door to the unit from the corridor.

And then there are 2 BR lock offs, which are a 1 BR and a studio with a connecting door between units and also will have two entry doors from the corridor.

Thanks everyone for the info..

Are a mechanical engineer? Not sure what the difference would be between my wife and I (total combined weight of 320 lbs) plus a mattress or some other couple with a total combined weight of 400 (not a stretch with the BMI issues in this country) with no mattress... Oh and next time I move the lamp in the corner, I'll be sure to bang it extra hard against the drywall so as to purposely inflict even more damage then I normally do. All of us who move things around in the DVC rooms are total neanderthals and barbarians...

:lmao:

Enjoy the Beach Club, man. It's a great place to stay.

No one said you were a barbarian I simply can not believe it is necessary to rearrange furniture that all of us pay fees on to replace when damaged.

But I am sure if you ask a manager at the resort if they care if you rearrange the furniture in the room, and you get their ok, then go for it.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: what is it with people and moving furniture? Its like a heard of elephants when turnover days occur. We pay the fees, be comfortable and enjoy the DVC. I think the issue is all the "fat"movers cruising around MK and EP...imagine the damage they are doing to the beds. Sometimes I feel like we are in the movie "Wall-e". :littleangel::rotfl2:
