How comfortable are the sofa beds for adults at OKW? For our next trip, it would make more sense for DH and I to sleep there and put the kids in the master. TIA

I depends, some units have the new style sofa sleepers, and others still have the original. Even the original sleepers ca be comfortable if they've been used gently over the years. While the newer style sleepers are "fine" for adults, and pretty comfortable, they are still not as comfy as a real mattress. And I think that would be true for all the resorts. The master beds at OKW are quite high off of the ground, so youngsters really are probably better off on the sleeper sofa. If your worried out exterior access, the outside patio has direct access from both the living room and master bedroom, so it one of the kids has a tendency to wander, they are about equal as far as security.

First rule of DVC, mom and dad always get the king sized bed.

My son slept on one of the newer sleeper sofas and it was not very comfortable. I slept on the older style ones a long time ago and they were okay. But the sleeper sofa is only queen sized and the bed is king sized.

The reason we were thinking of giving the teens the master is because DH and I get up hours before them. We'd be waking them up, making coffee, etc. How do you guys handle this?

Two bedrooms. Seriously, in a one bedroom unit, I would think that just the normal noises of others using the bathroom and shower would be as disturbing to the master suite as kitchen noise would be for those on the couch. The best solution would be a two bedroom with a closable door.

My son could sleep through a New Year's Eve celebration. So when we get up and get breakfast or something to eat while he is still sleeping in the living room, he sleeps. Until we shake him, yell at him to get up and "Let's go to the park!!"

Teenagers can sleep through anything. And they can sleep on anything. The people who pay the DVC dues get the master bedroom.

Besides, you have to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. And there is only a folding louvered door between the bathroom and the bedroom. If you are really worried about bothering them, make your coffee and breakfast and sit on the porch enjoying the view and breakfast.

We stayed in a one bedroom at OKW in Oct and our room had two ways to get to the bathroom. One was through the master BR and the other was through the laundry room. There were heavy doors between the hall and master, and the tub/shower area. Another door between the laundry room and the shower area and yet another door between the laundry room and the hall. (That whole area is a big circle.)

Are there different setups? We are relatively new to DVC.

Yes, at OKW there was a design change during construction. The one bedroom units in bldgs 29 and lower have one entrance to the bathroom, through the master bedroom. Buildings 30 and higher also have a bathroom entrance through the laundry room.

Is there a bedspread or anything for the sleeper sofa, or do I need to bring one from home?

Since you have teens, I'd definitely go with the 2 bedroom. Teens are really adult size people, and they use the bathroom as much or more than Mom and Dad, so I'd definitely go with the 2 bedroom so they would each have their own bed and they would not be sharing your bathroom. We usually get a 2 bedroom if we have more than 2 adult sized people.

Sheets, pillows and blankets, but no bedspread. It's not meant to be kept open during the day.
