I am an annual pass holder. Can I use my proof of residency and ID to buy my sister a SoCal resident ticket? If I buy online and give her my ID for the gate entrance will she be able to get in ok? I would be going with her, so my annual pass would be scanned the same two days.

Does your sister qualify for the type of ticket you are buying?

I have heard Disney is cracking down on tickets.
Each persons ID must match tickets with specific details.
If your sister doesn't have proof of residency for a SoCal resident ticket, I'd expect Disney to deny entry.

Well she only ‘qualifies’ for the SoCal resident ticket with my ID but she lives out of state. So she has no in state ID. They never check my state ID when I use my annual pass. So I’m trying to work out if she can just use my ID.

I would have thought that they would have asked to see your ID when you purchased your Annual Pass. I've always to show my ID when purchasing an AP. Once you've used it, your photo comes up whenever you swipe it to enter the parks, so the CMs don't need to see a second form of ID because they're matching your photo to you.

As Geemo said, there have been indications that Disney is getting stricter with their rules regarding tickets. So, I would expect them to ask to see your sister's ID when she uses the ticket. It might not happen, but it would be within the rules if the CMs required her to show an eligible ID and then deny her entry if she cannot do so. The fine print on the offer says that proof of eligibility is required for purchase and admission.

Here's another example of Disney cracking down of the fine print of ticket requirements.

While it deals with a Military tickets, it's essentially the same.
The person using the ticket has to have supporting ID for use.

If you try, be prepared for rejection and a trip over to the ticket booths

I was wondering if you were twins too?

So my sister shows up at the gate with a SoCal ticket and my ID and that could be just fine then, sounds like it’s possible ;)

The ID required to use the SoCal ticket for gate entry, isn't of the person that purchased the ticket.
Disney requires ID of the person using the ticket, to verify residency requirements are met.
Since your sister lives out of state, she will not qualify to use a SoCal ticket.

If they deny a Military Ticket to be used because of ID being expired a few weeks.

Just a quick PSA.... For those who use Military Salute tickets and use dependent/spouse military ID.... Check your expiration date.

Sigh. Here now and didn't realise my military spouse ID expired 23 days ago. CMs say there is nothing they can do. I'm making it work; unfortunately that means spending about $150 more than expected.

Our warning is to be prepared for Disney to deny entry.

Rules are rules.

Disney policy on these tickets is clearly stated in the fine print and has been clearly stated in the above posts. DIS Boards fully supports and abides by Disney policy on tickets and in no way encourages, supports, or participates in skirting or outright breaking those policies. I am closing this thread because it sounds like the OP is asking with clear intention about breaking the rules.

Also, the OP should be aware that if her sister is caught using her i.d., that her AP can be revoked. The risk is real.
