I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it. I live in SoCal. My niece doesn't. Can I buy the $99 2-day tickets for her? Would she have to show ID? Thanks

:goodvibes. I was just going to post a similar question! My DS resides in SoCal and I'm visiting next month. We're going to run over to DL for a few days and wondered if he could buy a ticket for me. I assume these tickets are purchased at the regular ticket sales area?

If the SoCal resident buys the tickets as gifts for non-residents, it's ok so long as you attend the parks with the SoCal resident.

My daughter goes to school in SoCal. We bought a 2-day ticket for Leap DAy for her friend on the school website, which had the SoCal discount. Had to put that zipcode in to buy it, but put our northern CA zip code in to pay for it. No questions asked at all, even at the gate. It just looked like a regular computer-printed ticket. My daughter and I didn't get asked for ID's.

yes, you can buy the passes for your friends and family. No you don't need to be there with them when they use them. No one will even ask them where they live.

I have seen CM's ask for ID when guests were using the So Cal tickets, this last trip there was a group that was 3 or 4 groups ahead of us but we could hear the discussion, the guests were getting quite testy, the CM called the lead over, the lead said they had to have someone in their group with a So Cal ID or they had to go to the ticket booths to upgrade, they were not allowed in with the tickets as they had no So Cal ID. As we got closer we could hear the lead on her phone or walkie (couldn't tell which) speaking to the DCA entrance and describing the party, she wanted to make sure they were going to get in over there either. :) She was also watching all the DL booths to make sure they weren't going to try another entrance there.

Bottom line, have someone in your group with a So Cal ID.

Shocking to hear. I guess there can always be one power tripper or some other reason that was not made clear to the other guests in the area. There are many reasons why folks are denied entrance to the parks. My wife works at the Main Entrance as a lead and told me that they would not ask...so....:confused3

I used to live in So CA (10 years ago) and when I had the So Cal promotion tickets they always asked to see a DL that had an address listed with one of the So Cal zip codes.

I had wondered the same thing as my grandson & I are blessed to be heading to cali with my bff, a trip if never be able to take him on alone financially anyway. He is autistic, I have family in cali and they wanted to get our tickets for us but had no desire to go themselves. Guess its back to drawing board to raise money for tickets.

It's a So Cal ticket, only So Cal residents are to use them so why would they not ask? IMO that's breaking the rules right there.

I totally agree. It kinda surprises me that the SoCal residents can even buy up to 5 tickets. I guess that would cover a resident's family?

Everyone seems to have a different point of view on this one. Last year, my in-laws purchased a SoCal parkhopper for me and my husband. I called Disneyland and asked if we could use it or if we needed to figure out something else. I was told that Southern Californians could buy these tickets as gifts for non-residents. We used them and were never asked for ID.

I spoke to my in-laws about the tickets and they said the person at the ticket booth was the one who told them about the tickets and said as long as they were the ones buying them, it was no problem.

I would have been very upset if we were denied entry since the person who sold the tickets and the person I spoke to on the phone both said they were valid as gifts. :sad2:

If only SoCal folks are supposed to use them, why can they buy 5 of them? Seems like it is setup to use for friends/family...
