sorry you are sad about canceling! i can imagine how tough it was to tell your kids.
we decided to cancel our trip for june, as well. we didn't technically *have* to, but you know, in all honesty, i feel a little miffed towards disney right now. with all of the economic turmoil going on, they're raising their prices, and it just rubs me the wrong way. it's not like the experience is getting better as the prices go up. in truth, i feel like the employees are getting grouchier, and service is suffering. so i decided to boycott for a while. i've always felt that DLR was a fair deal for the money. i just don't feel that way right now. can anyone else relate?
instead, we decided to take the kids to do several other things in lieu of DLR. and, would you believe, we are going to be able to take them to EIGHT alternative attractions throughout vegas and california for less than the price it would cost our family of 6 to go to DLR for ONE day?
the trip we were planning for june was for a full 5 days in the parks, which would have run us over $1,000 for tickets alone. throw in hotel, souvenirs, and food, and it's easy to see that we would have been spending a crazy amount of money. with the trip we have planned now, we'll only be spending a fraction of what we would have on that DLR trip.
and although it's true that i'll feel a twinge of sadness when we drive past DLR without stopping, i feel really good about the choice we've made.
hope you feel cheerful again soon!!! maybe you'll find a way to plan something else fun during that time that won't break the bank, but will still be a lot of fun for your kids!
