Soarin!

We can definitely smell the ocean when we fly over it. She's not imagining things. :) It's a very subtle smell, very fresh with just a hint of 'salty'.

Soarin' is one of my favorites, on its own merit and because it appeals to such a wide range of ages. SimonV and I rode it 6 times in soft opening, and we met a man who was 80 years old and was riding it for his 26th time. A few rides later we met a 3 year old from the UK who was riding it for the first time. He went with his Dad first, then Mum (who was waiting behind with the baby). He was silent through the whole ride with Dad, then told Mum every detail before it happened on the second ride. Priceless. :goodvibes

Oh, that's great. :goodvibes My family LOVES Soarin'. One reason we love it is because it's just a nice, imaginative ride that any age, including my mother at 74 and son at 6, can ride.

Although I do love the first row the best, I love the other rows also. :thumbsup2

DH & I went on Soarin' this past May. DH loved it! He kept saying "oh wow that's so cool" I had my eyes closed most of the time because to me the screen seemed too close and was making me dizzy. But because of DH I had to open my eyes from time to time and I admit it was cool (and I HATE heights!).

I think because I had my eyes closed I tried to concentrate on the smells and sounds and I could smell the ocean, oranges, pine trees, and I swore to DH that I smelled smoke (like from the fireworks).

It definitely is a great ride and dh probably could talk me into riding it again when we go in December! :thumbsup2

I guess that I'm the only one who wasn't crazy about it. :duck: IMO not the best that Disney's done.
I'm with you. After a 1/2 hour wait, my only reaction was "what's all the fuss about?" :confused3 Although I will admit that this is the first I've heard of there being smells incorporated, too. I honestly didn't smell anything. I suppose if the line is really short next year, I might ride it again just to try to notice the smells. Otherwise I'll skip it and not think twice about it.

We only went on it once which was disappointing.

Looking back we should have gone back into EPCOT for a morning just to go Test Track and Soarin'.

I agree, Soarin' rocks!

I've never been able to smell the salty air of the ocean but my DH says he can. :confused3

I'm afraid of heights. Would Sourin be too intense of a ride for me? I'm debating wheather to give it a try.

You might find it too intense as you are lifted up pretty high during the ride.

I've smelled the oranges, makes me nostalgic about the old Horizons orange smell (sniff)

Never smelled the ocean before, will have to be extra sniffing when Im there TOMORROW!! :goodvibes

I love Soarin! As embarrassing as it is to say, I totally ducked when the golf ball came at me! :)

My whole family loved this ride. We were in the first row and it was better than I expected. Only wish they had a water spray when you go over the ocean and touch down. That would have really made you feel like you were touching the water . :goodvibes

I rode it about 10 times last week (I lost count). It's the only ride I've gone on where there was always applause upon landing. I love it, but hope they come up with a new film in a year or two.

We rode Soarin this past week. My favorite time on it was when we were in the first row - no dangling feet above us!

There are only two times we will ride Soarin'........with a FP or if it is the first ride of the day. On our last trip, we never waited more than 10 minutes for Soarin' and got to ride it about 4 or 5 times over our vacation. :thumbsup2

Yeah, me too. Especially this last trip, the first time we rode it and it ended, there was more applause than any of the other times we have ridden it. It was first thing in the morning, so I don't know if that was it..........everyone seemed really pumped about the ride. It was cool. :goodvibes
