It's good!!!

We chose this as our first ride at EPCOT and everybody, who hasn't been on it as of yet will get what they expect - a very enjoyable and memorable journey.

The smell of the pine and orange trees as you fly overhead makes the ride even more special.

I have a question..when you flew over the ocean in Soarin', did you smell the ocean?? I've ridden this dozens of times, and everytime I can't smell the ocean. My mom says she can smell it, but I can't. Maybe my nose isn't working. But I just wanted to see if anyone else doesn't smell the ocean during that part..

Soarin is AWESOME. One of the best at WDW:earsboy:

We can definitely smell the ocean when we fly over it. She's not imagining things. :) It's a very subtle smell, very fresh with just a hint of 'salty'.

Soarin' is one of my favorites, on its own merit and because it appeals to such a wide range of ages. SimonV and I rode it 6 times in soft opening, and we met a man who was 80 years old and was riding it for his 26th time. A few rides later we met a 3 year old from the UK who was riding it for the first time. He went with his Dad first, then Mum (who was waiting behind with the baby). He was silent through the whole ride with Dad, then told Mum every detail before it happened on the second ride. Priceless. :goodvibes

Our family's very favorite ride at Epcot. Our last trip, we rode it 7 times. I think my DS4 would have just been happy to sit there all afternoon.

We absolutely love Soarin'!!! The first time we rode it the smells weren't working and we though it was fantastic. The smells just add such a special touch to it! We go right for Soarin' and get fast passes then ride it!

Yes, there is a smell at the ocean. Subtle, but it is there!

When we rode soarin last October we did not smell it :confused3
This past August we did smell it!!!!

Love, Love, Love Soarin! It's become one of my favorites. I love the scent of the ocean.. It's worked every time I've been on it.

We loved Soarin' as well, but does anyone know why they couldn't design the ride so that if you sit in the second and third rows, you wouldn't see feet dangling in front of you? It's still a good ride in those rows, but not as good as the first row IMO. And isn't it surprising they don't have a Soarin' gift shop?? There must be some logistical/space reason, because they could certainly make some money on that. There were a few Soarin' t-shirts over at MouseGears, but they weren't very attractive. One featured dangling feet! That's not how I want to remember that ride, but I guess not everyone agrees.

I guess that I'm the only one who wasn't crazy about it. :duck: IMO not the best that Disney's done.

I couldn't agree more about the dangling feet! It's one of the things that turned me off about Soarin'. It really takes away from the experience. Surely with all of those creative Imagineers, someone could have figured out a way around this issue. :confused3

I thought they were going to make a new version this year. Guess not. Anyone know if one is in the works?

I smell all the smells. Just fantastic! I also think I smell feet when they are dangling in front of me too.

Pot Noodle my DBF loves you ;)! He's from England too, from Chester but he lives here with me now although he mentions you from time to time :teeth:. Actually he does love a Pot Noodle and any flavor will do!

Soarin...well I tried that ride 3 times and bailed 3 times. I just knew it was going to be good and was right there at opening and couldn't wait..but then I dunno the seating...I paniked. It was embarresing and upsetting but I have issues and the ride vehicle just made me feel like I would be dangling in mid air, about to fall out at any minute. I can't do farris wheels either but can ride anything else! I'm not a total sissy! Except those loop de loop coasters.. I can't do them any more..but I used to be able to! I used to love those....sigh..

Someone posted on here how they stopped the ride and the lights went on. Everyone just had to sit there for about 15 minutes while they reset the ride. Yuck!

This is our favorite ride in Epcot!! We loved it and rode it 4 times on our only day in Epcot. Cant wait to do it again in Dec.!!!!

I'm afraid of heights. Would Sourin be too intense of a ride for me? I'm debating wheather to give it a try.

The smell of the ocean? Not to my knowledge - although we actually thought we was going to get wet as we looked close to touching the water.

The smells are great and so much better than that of the Stitch ride in the Magic Kingdom. (Those who've been on that will know exactly what I mean). ;)

Some tourbook I read or something said "oh even if you never ride stuff twice, you'll want to ride this twice" So we got FP, went through standby, then felt like gee, we have the passes, so rode it again. It was fun, but we were a little sorry to have "wasted" time on the 2nd go.

I guess they must have used up too much ocean stuff on our turn, and shorted some of you all! :rotfl: there was nothing subtle about it - it made me sneeze. Its that same dorky smell as blue candles, the smell that I have never smelled near an actual ocean. LOL

I don't mean to say we didn't like the ride. Just not better than anything else.

That pretty much sums up the way I felt, although I could never get it to make sense that way that you just did! :teeth:
