Soarin wait times at rope drop??

When we saw the new Soarin last time the movie appeared quite distorted for parts of it, is there a preferred location to sit to avoid that?

My experience has been that Soarin seems to have lower wait times for the first hour of park open. I've used the strategy of heading to Test Track first for rope drop and then walk over to Soarin. Didn't wait longer than 15 minutes when I did that. Since they added the 3rd theatre, the wait times have dropped.
thanks. This is our plan for opening of Epcot.

November 2015 and last February we arrived at EPCOT like 40 min prior to park opening, and then we took our right and waited at the rope drop.
We went straight to The Land Pavillion as soon as the park opened, and we got like the first flight waiting as much as 5-10 minutes to walk through the pavillion and the line itself.

Concourse B (middle section).

I’ve only seen the new movie once, but I asked for B and was accommodated. I was in the top row and didn’t notice any distortion.

If you arrive at the right time, you'll be fine. But the "right time" would be like an hour before park open. I arrived about 30 minutes before one time and I didn't even make it. The lines to get in the park we're so long already and by the time I got to Soarin', it was already at about 40 minutes. It could've just been a weird day though...

If you arrive an hour before rope drop, you'll be okay I think and Soarin' should be 10-15 minutes max.

I showed up right at EMH opening (a few minutes before the official time, but like UO they seem to always let people in a little early) one time. Soarin' was "officially" at 40 minutes before I even got to the Land so I did something else. That said, I have heard the times may not be completely accurate, which is a shame as that experience turned me off morning EMH. Given some of the pictures I've seen of crazy long lines at the tapstiles waiting to get in, I probably won't be trying Regular Rope Drop ever.

This morning: Pulled in the EPCOT parking space at 8:30. Were not "up front" of the holding pen at Spaceship Earth, maybe midway back. Didn't run just walked normally to Soarin'. Entered at 9:05 with 15 minute posted wait time. Seated exactly 15 mins later .

Similar experience. The week before Christmas.

Just check your MDE app and look at wait times in the days leading up to your trip. That should give you a good idea.

Did I read somewhere that a PPO ADR @ Garden Grill could increase your odds of an in & out Soarin' experience?

Thanks, I'll definitely request to sit in the middle then! Top row would be nice, we always seem to be in the middle.

I've been tracking wait times in MDE to get a better idea of which rides to FastPass/Standby. This is the information for Epcot from this morning. Soarin' doesn't look too bad.
