Soarin' SB+ test...Fail

It was just there and so eas to let us come full circle.

I think folks will go to the 2nd tier attractions. So Captain EO and Stitch (yes I realize MK isn't tiered) can have 60 min waits too. The bean counters will love it. Using up all available resources without spending any additional money.
You get my point! These people keep saying that they can go do something else but it might all be crowded and they might not be ready for that.

Personally, I'll be at the pub singing Fleetwood Mac songs. :music:

Why can't I add a picture from the app while on my phone? The computer is all the way across the house and I don't have FP+ or SB+ to use it anyway.

It's always there...it won't go away. Although thanks to the Fleetwood Mac lyrics I can sing that song instead!

I took my love and took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Till the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Stevie Nicks is amazing!

I could very well be in the minority but I don't think folks are going to be like "well, I don't have to stand in line for Soarin', so I guess I'll go shop". I truly think they'll go stand in a line elsewhere. I always rode standby when waiting for legacy FP times to come up. Then again, I'm not a shopper. I do suppose I could sit tight somewhere and hold a barstool down tho. Where is that drinking thread from a few months ago? I need to refresh my memory.

One of my faves to karaoke. I've never been to Jellyrolls. Do they let ya sing along there?

You can have a sing-a-long with the Dueling piano players. I doubt they would play along if you suggested Landslide and dedicated it to WDW. ;)

If you like Karaoke then I would suggest Kimonos Sushi Bar at the Swan next to the Boardwalk. They do it every night around 9pm and anything goes.

Sure I can. This is a "test." Not a permanent solution (at least not yet). Tests are done randomly and without warning, that's why it's a "test."

People can be disappointed about not being able to ride something but they need to put on their big boy/big girl pants and move on.

Nope thats a pop quiz tests are announced.... ya know so you can study for them :rolleyes1

I'm not sure what you mean by "history." If you're asking how often I go, I go every year for a week. And I live in Chicago and yes, we plan everything out to the T.

There have been times in the past where I've booked a trip, gotten time off from work, paid for the airfare, only to find out months later that one of my favorite rides is undergoing a refurb/closure and I wouldn't be able to ride it. Disappointed? Yes. Did I fall to the ground and start pounding the pavement? No. I thought about all the other cool rides I would get to go on.

Think of all the kids out there who would love to go to Disney just to ride Dumbo. If all they got to ride was Dumbo, they would be thrilled and so happy. So people who were turned away from Soarin or A&E aren't going to get my sympathy.

Of course kids will be happy, they don't get the bill.:thumbsup2

haha...yeah not thinking Landslide dedicated to wdw would go over too well! ice. Keeping the Kimonos Sushi bar info tucked away for the next adult only trip. Niece and nephews are coming with me on the next one.......it will be early nights to bed for sure.

I wish people would stop posting on this thread for a while. I discovered it on Friday night and even with a rainy weekend was only able to read up to page 40. I think it was only 55 pages last night. Now it's up to 67 and I'm falling further behind. :lmao:

OK, vent over. Carry on. Much of the stuff here is great. :cool1:

I'm still waiting for an answer to a question that I keep asking. If people don't have to wait in line any more, where will they all go? Somewhere has to be crowded and it might be the pools or lesser rides or pubs.

Locked away in a dungeon until their FP reservation or FP legacy card says their time has arrived.

Its great for some and terrible for others. For me, it's somewhere in the middle. It mostly benefits the lazy folks who want to sleep in till 1 and then be able to walk on whatever they want. So now those folks can make their reservations for that time. So if I were them, yea I'd be ecstatic.

Lazy? It's vacation. It's not lazy to sleep in.

Well my opinion is going to be unpopular I'm sure, but I get why they implemented this, I had suggested it in a post myself for A&E and was flamed.

I don't think Disney's aim is to be controlling but to attempt to make guests day more enjoyable because standing in a line for 3+ hours is not enjoyable and for Disney the happier the guest the more they spend and the more likely they are to return (and spend more) and recommend a Disney vacation to others (who will spend more)

I don't see it as removing the standby option, everyone has the option to ride, with a wait you just get to wait while enjoying other parts of the park.
The rides have always had a daily capacity, this hasn't changed that.

Why given the option of standing in line for 3 hours twiddling your thumbs or going on another ride, grabbing some food and coming back to ride would you pick standing in line?
I just finished a Disneyland (CA) trip, and I've come to the conclusion that WDW cares as much about queues/lines as they do about rides. Where DL concentrates on the rides (like the BTMRR upgrades) and the queues generally remain more basic.

(And since there are so many headliners in DCA, its not unusual to see Soarin with a 15 minute standby wait in the evening, or 30 mins for TSMM)

It does seem WDW has lost a bit of focus on the actual attraction

Actually, almost all of these "problems" would not exist with if they kept to the limit of 3 fastpasses per day and only at one park.

Do you complain when you arrive at a restaurant at 4pm and are told that the restaurant is fully booked the rest of the day? Despite that there is 5 hours+ of restaurant time left.
I do if I paid for my meal in full, 180 days prior to my reservation, and flew several hours to eat there.

DING DING DING! We have a winner! :thumbsup2

And it does sound a little absurd, don't you think?
