Soarin' SB+ test...Fail

Wow. So today I posted something on my fb page about disliking the FastPass+ system and all of the people that commented (some local, some vacationers) said that they loved it! Was weird to hear after reading through all this! I dislike it overall, because I should not have to plan my ride times so far in advance, (I know I don't HAVE to). I REALLY enjoyed the fastpass legacy (that's what you're all calling the original fast pass right?) and so wish they would go back to that, but I know they won't.
Oh well, just was throwing out the opposite viewpoint here! Again, was shocked that everyone jumped on me saying how great it was!:confused3

Just as with everything, there are going to be a lot of people on both sides of this issue. There certainly are those that love it, and for them I am happy that it's an improvement for them.

Everyone I've talked to, though, that isn't a DIS member/disney lover (but who has vacationed there since FP+ or is in the planning process for their trip now) is really not a fan of having to schedule so much so far in advance. The only people I've seen really love it have been DISers.

That's not going to happen. If people aren't in the parks, they are likely to be at the swimming pool during their downtime. At least that's where I will be. Folks will go to Downtown Disney like always but minimally.

I agree...that doesn't mean it isn't what Disney is hoping for. They definitely want you spending money, but they don't really care whether they get your money from in the park or outside of it or they wouldn't be touting how many more people they can cycle through MK when it's at capacity. Pools don't get them more money...more DVC properties? Disney Springs? more potential for money outside the parks.

Its great for some and terrible for others. For me, it's somewhere in the middle. It mostly benefits the lazy folks who want to sleep in till 1 and then be able to walk on whatever they want. So now those folks can make their reservations for that time. So if I were them, yea I'd be ecstatic.

You aren't alone in your preference. ;) It works for some and not for others. There is very little common ground on the subject. If only there were a guide book. :)

Isn't it amazing how the new trolls always pop up right after the old ones disappear? :rolleyes1 It's almost like they can't be seen together at the same time or something.

Didn't a few folks post that people were having meltdowns at the Soarin entrance when they were told they couldn't ride?

Do you complain when you arrive at a restaurant at 4pm and are told that the restaurant is fully booked the rest of the day? Despite that there is 5 hours+ of restaurant time left.

I was never one of those people. This isn't about fairness. This is about making money. Disney wants people in the parks at 9am and leaving at 9pm. That will maximize food, beverage, and souvenir revenue.

I don't complain when I find out a restaurant is fully booked and that it's still open for 4 or 5 hours, but when you're in the park, you've already paid a lot of money for the day to go on the attractions. You wouldn't have paid for dinner, because the restaurant is booked so it didn't cost you anything. Park cost=$100.00, cost of dinner=0.

Also a good point I should have thought of :)

Sorryy, can't resist, but isn't it ironic.....don' ya think?
Oh look nothing has changed today. :lmao:

I can't believe that anyone is now saying that everyone should just quietly take whatever Disney dishes out. That does sound....familiar.

I'm still waiting for an answer to a question that I keep asking. If people don't have to wait in line any more, where will they all go? Somewhere has to be crowded and it might be the pools or lesser rides or pubs.

Did someone say Fleetwood Mac?

If you wake up and don't want to smile
If it takes just a little while
Open your eyes and look at the day
You'll see things in a different way

Don't stop thinking about tomorrow
Don't stop, it'll soon be here
It'll be better than before
Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone

It is to be feared, even when accompanied by rainbows and glitter.

The only thing scarier would be if the students wore these glasses (complete with rose-colored LED trim) that would light up when frightened. Spooky! :scared1:

It was just there and so eas to let us come full circle.

I think folks will go to the 2nd tier attractions. So Captain EO and Stitch (yes I realize MK isn't tiered) can have 60 min waits too. The bean counters will love it. Using up all available resources without spending any additional money.
