Not to mention that we have no idea where it will all end.Right now I just feel sorry for all the people that have to deal with all this as a vacationer. I was debating getting an AP again. Forget it. I'll get my Disney "fix" with MNSSHP and the occasional meal at a resort. I know I am fortunate to live close. What a cluster this whole thing is turning into.
I would prefer neither personally. I guess that my biggest concern is that it used to be easy to get fastpasses for one ride and then do other things until time for the next ride. Now it appears that there's an awful lot of planning that has to happen first and inevitably the lesser attractions will become more crowded as people look for other things to do. I might be offbase but I just see lines forming everywhere with few places to escape to.
I know that it's more fair but still....
I think they should hold all slots until the park opens. People who buy a ticket at the gate that day need to have a decent shot at riding the headliners too.
They're going to need to add more chairs.![]()
Oh they will, with $10 beers as well.![]()
The only real answer to the problem I see is an evolved legacy fast pass combined with the mbs.
WDW has me hanging by a thread with the 3 FP+ general limit. At $100 for a daily ticket, $33 a ride is a bit steep to meThere used to at least be the possibility to get "your money's worth" as the pro's if Legacy FP have said, riding things multiple times etc. If SB+ is to become a norm, the only attraction I will be doing in FL is the
. .
If they go the q-bot route I'm sure it will be something you have to pay for. So for those who choose not to or won't be able to justify it financially, they will be unable to ride unless they stand in a long line. Unless capacity gets filled for the ride then they may not even be able to ride at all. Wasn't FP+ supposed to level the playing field? Looks like it may be getting crooked again.
Who says qbot would be a pay for service. Right now in effect the only part of FP+ you pay for is early access (60 v 30 days).
My guess is qbot is in the works for Disney it's clearly where they are going with SB+. Since it's effectively the same thing only difference is implementation paper v digital

Inside info?
Folks were sure FP+ would be charged as well.
But admitting STANDING in a long lines is bad, is a step in the right direction.![]()
Is FP+ finalized? Everyone keeps saying it will change as time goes on. I'm just saying if Disney thinks they can charge for something and people will pay, they will charge for it like any business would.
jade1 said:SB+ is in effect legacy FP
So 3 FP+ (more after at kiosks) and FP- for the rest. How is that not an improvement over current SB?
Except it isn't legacy fp. With legacy fp, when they ran out for soarin or TT or TSMm, the guest still had an option to ride. It may not have been a great option,.but it was an option.
If/when this is.more widespread/well known, and soarin sb+ are gone by 11am (reasonable to assume, since legacy fp could be gone that early, and there are les sb+ spots than there were legacy fp.spots) - a guest arriving at 11:05am no.longer has *any* option to ride it.
If I arrive at 11:05am and choose not to get in a sb line.because it is too long, that is much different than disney telling me I *can't* ride something at all because - b/w prebooking and sb+ - all of the slots for the day were gone 2 hrs after opening.
Its a bit more than that. The paper reference is just to point out it's not necessary if you have MB technology-they can choose to use paper if they want.
The FP+ is here to stay IMO.
It's just a matter of what % they distribute, and what % remain SB.
They need to keep a decent % SB for the reasons posted over and over.
QBOT/SB+ simply holds your spot in the queue.
It does not shut down the SB line. You can continue to enjoy just standing there if you choose.
FP- just dispersed the entire allotment of FP like an hour glass-at many times a 10AM would be for a 9PM return, and headliners often gone by noon-and the average guest arriving after noon. Admittedly you could get another after 1 or 2 hours, but the ability to hold 3 FP+ before you even arrive (and more after they are used) was the replacement.
The technology just allows them to now start go after the SB wait times.
You can be sure they are constantly looking at all ideas.

Believe me-I think they are insane not to charge. There are huge threads from the past.
Mostly happy to see you agree that long SB lines are a bad thing.

Folks have many opportunities to select FP+ up to that point, and like with FP- you can be sure many never rode headliners they wanted. There is no way everyone can ride what they want, never could/did or will.
SB lines are undoubtably a bad thing. Please explain to me how they are shortened without somebody losing? Come on, put on your "real thinking" cap. I'd let you borrow mine, but I don't own one.
See above.
