Soarin' SB+ test...Fail

Bottom line though.... Disney wouldn't need FP+ tiers and SB+ whatever the flop it is, if there were MORE RIDES!!! They need to kick this into high gear and get some rides into EPCOT that people actually want to ride.

Epcot has needed help for a long time.

Totally agree. They have all those empty buildings.

This is starting to get insane.

I wish they would just scrap the whole thing and go back to the original fastpass. It was so easy to understand and things seemed to move great.

Now it seems everything is getting more and more complicated.

You and me both and thousands of our closest DISer friends wishing the same.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned before but I think the Stand By passes actually increases the number of riders. If I I use my FP+ and get off the ride and can get a Stand By return pass I am very likely to do that. If I get off a ride and my only choice is to stand in a long stand by line for another ride then I am much more likely to go on to another attraction.

It looks like Stand By passes would increase repeat riders and therefore add to the overall number of riders. I don't see this happening as much with a character line. Meeting a princess once would be enough (unless you are stalking her).

Lovely. I am leaving for Disney in a week, and I arrive to see this madness. Though FP+ had some kinks to sort out, SB had no issues. If I wanted to wait 3 hours for Soarin', I had the ability to wait 3 hours for Soarin'. Why would you try to fix something that is not broken?

I guess my strategy for touring now is arriving at ropedrop (even if I am the only one in my family up at that time) and hoping that the ride does not reach capacity at 9:05AM.

What next? Will Disney start adding mini merchandise stores to all the SB queues so that we are only two feet away from shopping at all times?

What do you think this test says about the reputed TSMM test at DHS hinted at in the article that started all this speculation?

This is only a "test" for 3 days. It more than likely won't be in effect when you get there. Hopefully.:goodvibes

I don't think anyone is arguing with you, but that same family should have access to any ride that's open. If they choose to wait for 3 hours that's their choice.

This may be off base, but by doing SB+ aren't they actually lowering the capacity of the ride? With regular standby, if you are in line to ride at closing time, you got to ride. So if you get in a 90 minute Soarin line at park closing, you still got to ride. How do they define ride capacity when distributing SB+? Are they trying to get everyone onto the ride by park closing? Is Disney trying to get the parks closed earlier?

Maybe they are trying to be innovative like that park across town and just close down the standby line to a popular attraction 3 hours before posted closing times. :confused3

I wondered how much of the SB+ for Soarin' has to do with the amount of people riding well past closing time? Anyone have any figures or CM anecdotes on that? I mean, is the Soarin' queue empty by 10pm on a 9pm close? 11:00pm? Later?

Can you please provide a link to the article? I didn't follow this on the A&E thread because we're not into character meets. So now I'm catching up.

So we have a FP+ for Test Track. Were going to get to Sorin first, then start the rest of the day with our FP+. So are you saying I cannot get in line for Sorin without a SB fastpass? If this is correct this is stupid!!!!

Soarin currently has no Standby Time listed. Hmmmm....

But Living with the Land has only a 40-minute Standby wait time. Sounds like a nice consolation prize. ;)

I guess one way to get guests into stores and restaurants is just to not allow them on attractions at all. Bravo, Disney.

I'm guessing it will be a go next week, and an unmitigated disaster as well. Said it before, will say it again, if my kid decided he wants to ride TSMM 6x in a day, and we're willing to put in the SB time to do so:

A) We're morons
B) We should be allowed to be morons.

Can someone please explain what the card is?? I've been ticked off at Disney since our Feb 2014 trip. I will not go back until major changes are made. One has been-the ability to get more than 3 per day, but it seems like that's not such a success either. The other is the tiering. Ugh-hate that!! FP+ is such a disaster & changed our touring style(which we loved) completely. So maybe I'm behind on what's going on. Doesn't sound good though.

If I said it once, I'll say it again-it should be renamed FP-. FAST PASS MINUS. Because it takes away from visitors. Why call it Plus? Nothing makes this new system better or enhanced. It's much worse than the legacy FP. In my opinion.

Okay, I'm waiting for the headlines "Rioting breaks out at Disney." :lmao: I'm laughing, but really this is no laughing matter. Threads like this one are tough to read less than two weeks out from our trip. Hopefully they will have fixed this or dropped it altogether.

IMHO, this is the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time.

Praying--yes, PRAYING--for an epic fail with this idea.

It will just come up "stars". It is from a blog called temporary tourist I think. I just Googled "Walt Disney World Anna and Elsa Meet and Greet changes"

Is it time for a letter writing campaign? Who has the guest services email?
