Soarin' SB+ test...Fail

Does anyone know how DAS works in all of this? If there is not standby wait, are they just telling them to come back in 30 minutes or something? If so, they've made it more desirable again, especially if guests are no longer allowed to wait in standby - you can't turn a disabled guest away. The abuse is gonna ramp up with those if they're guaranteed an X minute wait on everything, even if everyone else is being turned away due to "capacity."

Edited for typos. Sorry, on my phone!

You can't turn a guest away because of their disability. If the ride is closed, for whatever reason, they can be turned away just like anyone else. Also, my understanding is the wait time given for a return with the DAS card is dependent on the current wait time of the particular ride.... not an automatic 30 minute return.

Basically everyone is going to do the same as the DAS, except where a different ride vehicle is required (or various other accommodations).
Those currently using DAS for avoiding lines (by waiting elsewhere) would be at no advantage (or disadvantage) so there would be no need for anyone to abuse the system.
Also if a ride has reached capacity they would be turned away like anyone else.

Look what they were handing out yesterday for all rides when the MM+ system crashed resort-wide.

At least they can fit in your wallet/pocket. :rolleyes1

Oh, legacy FP... surely this is a sign that you miss me too! :flower3:

Until large groups of people end up in the pubs. Then Disney will have to come up with a FP+ or standby strategy for that problem.

Nope. Since guests pay for the drinks, I would guess that Disney would waste no time in adding actual capacity. More stools, more cash registers (or band readers), etc.

Sorry, I don't think I explained myself well. I mean, how does the DAS work in this test? For A&E, they were giving out SB tickets for 8pm at 2pm (or there abouts). So, if someone with a DAS went up at 2pm to get a return time, would they have 8pm written on their card since it's technically a 6 hour wait? Or, since they were trying to aim for a 30 minute wait for SB ticket holders, would they just write out the DAS for 2:30? DAS technically goes through the FP+ line once they return with their card, and there is buffer built into the FP+ line to allow for that. So just because SB tickets have all been distributed and guests are being turned away if they don't have FPs or SB tickets, doesn't mean that DAS users would get turned away, since they are accounted for in the FP line as it is. That is most definitely an advantage to non-DAS holders. Less wait on return times and not turned away when the SB line reaches "capacity."

I've been told that the 30 minute wait is for standby but only after the previous wait until standby is done and that this applies to everyone including DAS. It'll be interesting to see how all of this plays out though particularly since it's constantly changing.

Best laugh I had on the boards today! Thanks!

P.S. Even if it is bad weather, Disney would still try to pass it off as Weather+

Hey, if sunglass-wearing rapping Dwarfs can't convince you the Mine Train is cool...well...

I didn't get a chance to verify this. But the original article said something about a different colored card and returning to the FP+ queue. The article also said the das card would not be filled out.

Well, I guess we've 2 things upcoming to see where this is going:

Do they continue the test forward with TSMM this week ?

And what the heck is behind the partitions for A&E ?

I don't remember - did they start on a Tues for A&E and a Wed for Soarin'...?
