...this is only a test. Had this been an actual roll out of SB+, you would have been instructed to (fill in with appropriate or inappropriate statement of your choice).

Something that bothers me about this whole thing is Disney telling guests that an attraction has "reached capacity for the day".

I suppose that might be technically true based on FP reservations and SB+ tickets handed out, but in reality, it hasn't reached capacity.

If it reached capacity, they wouldn't be opening the SB queue in the evenings and letting hundreds of guests ride.

At best, what they're doing is disingenuous and at worst it's dishonest. I've had my share of criticism of WDW over the years, but I can't recall a time when they've done something that seemed a bit deceitful.

Does anyone know how DAS works in all of this? If there is not standby wait, are they just telling them to come back in 30 minutes or something? If so, they've made it more desirable again, especially if guests are no longer allowed to wait in standby - you can't turn a disabled guest away. The abuse is gonna ramp up with those if they're guaranteed an X minute wait on everything, even if everyone else is being turned away due to "capacity."

That is hysterical. when the fancy schmantzy billion dollar program crashes, go with the tried and true technology.

Until large groups of people end up in the pubs. Then Disney will have to come up with a FP+ or standby strategy for that problem.
Maybe Disney could set up a bar right outside the gates! Then we can tour the parks and if the lines are a problem, who cares, we're happily tipsy.

They could set up portable bars all over the walkways for those people who are waiting outside the rides rather than in them. Good thinking!

They are good until the end of the year. If we were there and had another trip planned by for later in the year we would have collected a FP for all headliners/favorites and used them on our next visit.

I'm guessing there was no way to track who got fastpasses for what? Even if you didn't have FPs, were you able to just go up to a ride and say, "Um, I had FPs for this right now, but they're not working..." and then they just gave you the paper FPs on the honor system?

Legacy FP lives on. The funny part is that they made up new tickets with Fastpass+ on it and had them ready to go. They must have dusted off the legacy machines.

Love the multiple bar idea! Since I don't like to shop, this would be the only way WDW would get extra money from me.
