Soarin Question

Hi everyone! Last year we missed out on Soarin at Epcot,(120 min wait and fastpasses all gone) This year we will be at Epcot at opening, the Unofficial Guide recommends going to Soarin first thing and obtain a fastpass then ride other attractions first. My question is why not just ride Soarin first thing?

We love the ride so much, we did both! When we get there, we get a fastpass and then walk into the line - we get 2 rides with little to no waiting!

I would collect a fastpass for Soarin', then go through the stand-by line and use your fastpass later in the day.

It could quite honestly be the most popular ride at all of the WDW parks - it is for me!

You will definatley want to ride it more than once. You know it is good when people clap at the end of the ride!!

If you are going to ride AND get a fastpass, I would actually recommend riding first, then get a fastpass on exit.

Soarin is a popular attraction, the time it takes to get a fastpass first will allow quite a few other guests to get in the standby line ahead of you, which will add at least 10-15 minutes to your wait in the standby line. If you are getting a fastpass you will have to return at a later time to use it, you won't be able to ride immediately after the first time you ride. Therefore, why waste an additional 10-15 minutes getting a fastpass first.

We were there last week: rode it and then got FP for 4:45
Then they were OUT after that.

The lineups for both stand by and FP were long immediately! Some folks got in the lineup and had someone else get FPs. Then that FP person threaded their way through the Standby line to meet up with family. There were so many people doing this it actually got annoying.

Yes, that is annoying.

I've recently read that they are clamping down on people doing that at other attractions. Hopefully they will continue to do so at all attractions.

We've never been able to get to Epcot in time to ride and then get a FastPass. Maybe this August I'll be able to get everyone moving in time to do that. LOL

We get a fastpass to Test Track and then go over to ride Soarin.

Riding Soarin once per trip is good for us.

I did the same as others have. We were there at opening and headed straight for Soarin. We got there and found the standby line to be quite short, so we got a fastpass and then went into a 20 minutes or so wait in standby.

This is what we do
As you enter Epcot entrance way --head right------if more than one person in your party --send them to the left to get fast-passes at Mission space or Test track for your group--make sure they take your ticket....continue to Soarin and have them meet up with you there. Folllowing soaring head to under the seas with nemo ,,,take a slow walk to Mission space --grab a coffee ,,,and enjoy...takes alittle planning but so worth it,,,also go on Extra Magic times (Am)
to get the full advantage of the popular rides.

My worry is that if the fast pass time is 2-3 hours later and we make our way into World Showcase but can't make it back to hit the fast pass time, will they honor it say and hour past our return time? I read someone on a different thread that they would but I don't want to take that chance if someone knows anything different. thanks

Yes, Fastpasses can be used past the window printed on them, but only on the day of issue. Many people collect fastpasses through out the day and then use them all prior to park closing.

Does anyone know if it's any faster entering from the BC/YC side entrance through the World Showcase? I've been at rope drop at the main entrance where they walk you over so you can't run. I was just curious if the other entrance was any faster.

I've never been towards the front of the line at rope drop so I'm not sure if there are others ahead of the crowd that may have entered through the other entrance.

IIRC, they do their best to open both entrances at the same time and the time to walk to Soarin is apparently close to the same from either side. So, it's believed to be of no advantage either way.

One morning, we had ds16 run to get fast passes for us all once we were through the gates. He is a top runner but I guess not everyone can do that! We are lucky. Wait was about 20 mins.

We too, get there asap in the am and grab fast passes and wait regular lineup and then if the wait is still not too long, will ride a second time in the regular line up, grab something to eat, maybe do circle of life, then do fast pass.

We rode three times in a row, that is our record.

It's my #1 ride. Love the experience, the music, all of it, and when the theme comes on DIS radio, it is - something about it touches me.

I know at DLR they have the single rider line, not sure if they do at WDW.
But, we def. ride and FP it, and if DH doesn't go again, I go twice more.
