I've never been on this ride-is it safe to ride when pregnant? I'll be 5 months when we go in May. Anyone ride pg?

Yes I have ridden it pregnant more than once. The warnings are pretty much in case you get dizzy etc. It is not jerky at all.

It's a very smooth, gentle ride.

I wouldn't worry about it all, as long as you can get the restraint over your belly.

If there is a warning it is there for a reason. You are only pregnant for a short time of your life.

Never pregnant, but funny story......

My Mom (60yrs old) gets very motion sick. I talked her into going on Soarin, when waiting in line it goes through the warnings, etc. She started getting very worried - after the ride, she stayed & rode it again & again. Absolutely loved it. And if you do get a little motion sick - you can look down & see the floor or the side of the gigatic screen & know your really not moving. Not jerky at all - very cool ride:)

Have fun & Congrats!

I never understood the restriction on that ride. I would never ride anything with a restriction that I hadn't been on not pregnant or that I new was to jerky. That is a very smooth ride and I have been on in during both of my pregnancies. Go have fun!

I went on soarin' in my first trimester. I did get a little bit of motion sickness on it, I just closed my eyes if I was feeling too woozy & the feeling passed. DS turned out okay. :)

The restraint is a seat belt, the same as in a car. It should be fastened under your belly, the same as your car seat belt.

There is not a restriction or warning for pregnancy on Soarin'
The only warnings are for motion sickness and fear of heights.

You can look at the park maps for the attractions with warnings - they are marked with a red triangle on the map and also on a sign at the entrance to the queue.
For Epcot here are the attractions with warnings:
  • Mission Space the sign outside the attraction says that pregnant women are advised not the ride both the more tame (green side) and the more wild (orange side)
  • Test Track
For Magic Kingdom:
  • Splash Mountain
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Tomorrowland Indy Speedway
  • Space Mountain
  • Goofy's Barnstormer (this doesn't have a triangle warning sign on the map, but does say that pregnant women should not ride)
For Disney Studio
  • Star Tours
  • Rock N Roller Coaster
  • Tower of Terror
For Animal Kingdom:
  • Kilimanjaro Safari
  • Kali River Rapids
  • Expedition Everest
  • Primeval Whirl
  • Dinosaur

I was in WDW when I was 6 months preg with my son and had ridden soarin several times before...I would have gone on it then but it was NYE and the wait was 4 hours!! Eeek! I like that ride...if anything I would fear it'd put me to sleep lol it is smooth and gentle. If you dont mind the dark, heights and slow movement you should be okay. If it gets to be too much just close your eyes and relax. :)

There is no restriction for pregnancy on soarin' and even if there was I wouldn't hesitate to do this ride preggo.

thanks for all the input! I'm definitely not interested in riding anything that's harmful-staying off the mountains and safari, even though I know some ride when pg...just wasn't sure if it was more of a motion/simulator warning or movement warning. Good to know!
