Soarin over Calif?

May 5th (I was surprised to see an actually date, but it keeps popping up with this date). I made my ressies for the first 2 weeks of May because May 5th is the actually kick off of the DL 50th birthday celebration, so expect the resorts to be at capacity during the first week of May because of all of the activities scheduled.

I have been to the one at California Adventure Park. It is a great ride!! This is one to DEFINATELY get a FASTPASS!!! Lines were 3 hours long without one.

Is it a simulator-type ride where I'd have to worry about getting sick?

WDW Linda,

I don't think you have to worry about getting sick on this ride. We rode the one in California and it was great. You feel as if you are riding on a handglider (you are really raised in a row of seats facing a big screen.) I think I remember seeing warnings for people who are afraid of heights, but someone else might know better. I do think most people won't have motion sickness problems on that ride. (My mom can't do rides like M:S, star tours, etc. and she did fine on Soarin).

My Mom gets motion sickness and the 1st time she rode became sick ... when she decided to try it again on our next trip, I told her just to look down to regain her senses, coming off the ride this time she wasn't sick at all. Now my Aunt has a worse motion sickness problem compared to my Mom and she did fine on the ride. So it really depends on the person

I think it depends on what causes your motion sickness. If it's shaking and jarring movements that get you, you'll be fine because Soarin' is incredibly smooth (pregnant women can ride this). If you're motion sick from any kind of motion, then you might have a problem. The way I describe the ride to those who've never ridden it is "an incredibly smooth, multi-sensory motion simulator." CA is a beautiful state. Everytime I ride it I think: Oh, yeah, that's why I live here.
