has anyone who suffers from motion sickness tried soarin' and been ok afterward? i became so horribly ill after riding mission space last september, i hesitate to even try soarin'-should i be concerned? when i say horribly ill, i mean: i broke out in a cold sweat-my clothes were totally soaked through and i was so nauseous i was convinced i was going to hurl any second, and i felt that way for almost 2 hours. i spent about an hour sitting on the bench outside the dressing rooms inside mousegears (it was nice & cool in there), trying to get it together. any other motion sickness sufferers do soarin' and make it through ok or should i skip it? TIA :)

Goin' back to WDW in 178 days! :Pinkbounc :cool1:

UGH I get major motion sickness too. DS does also so I am a little concerned about our trip between the two of us. I think we will both be taking Bonine EVERY day just in case! I don't seem to get sick at the mission space, body wars type rides so maybe I will be okay with Soarin if I can even convince myself to get on in the first place. That's the biggest battle for me.

I am very careful about what rides I do because of motion sickness but Soarin' was fine - no problem at all. You should also check out a current thread - a poll about the most nauseating rides where Soarin' is at the bottom of the poll.

Soarin' is nothing like Mission Space when it comes to motion problems. Most people have no problems with Soarin'. If you do, close your eyes or look to the side (you'll see that you aren't really moving).

Do give Soarin' a try - I think it's the best ride at Disney and I am prone to motion sickness!

Soarin' is a piece of cake. I was not well at all when I got off Mission Space. The two rides are totally different.

You'll love Soarin'! If anyone can get sick on a ride, it's me. No problem at all on Soarin'. I went twice.

I hate rides that are like Mission Space or those 360 degree movies. They always make me feel sick. But, I did great on Soarin'. We rode it 7 days in 2 days! If you do start to feel sick you can just close your eyes and you won't be able to see the movie. The seats don't move much at all once you are up in the air so with your eyes closed you would be able to ride it out without a problem. I think you'll keep your eyes open though. It's fun!

if ya throw up. just wipe your mouth off and keep riding :teeth:

My SO gets motion sickness just watching it rain but absolutely LOVES Soarin'. For our upcoming trip I bought a motion sickness band that my pilot friend had recommended and we're hoping that will work on some of the other things that we haven't been able to ride together. Was pretty expensive but if it works at all it will be worth it!

I too get motion sickness. Soarin is not bad at all. As a matter of fact, this is one of my favorite rides. Would not miss this one for anything. :disrocks:

I was nervous about Soarin'. When the ride took off I was so nervous because my stomach gets queezy as soon as I ride in the car. I also don't like that feeling of falling and such. Yes, a chicken. But, it was fine. After the initial fake fear I had of the unknown I was thrilled to ride Soarin. Even part of the ride I would keep my eyes partly closed and hung onto my husband, but it was great. I got a fastpass on the way out and rode it again later that morning. Even hearing the music on another site made me misty eyed.
No motion sickness. Not scary. It was just great.

The seat you sit in move up into a tiered seating with one row above another, if you are nervous about it you can ask for the bottom row(it only goes up about 10 feet).

I rode this twice last year. I do NOT suffer from motion sickness. first time I loved it, of course or I wouldn't have gotten on a second time. Well, when I got off it the second time I really thought I was going to be ill right there. Went back to the room for the night, it was only 7:00. This has never happened to me, except when I went on the teacups with DD and she had it spinning widely.

You shoudln't have any problems. I get motion sick pretty easily..but soarin' didn't bother me at all.

I get motion sickness pretty easily. The only thing that bothered me was at the very beginning when you soar over the golden gate bridge (so I close my eyes at that part). The rest is fine.
