We noticed Soarin was closed yesterday all day. It's being reported that OSHA shut both rides down because the seatbelts were deemed unsafe!

Well when you never close a ride for much needed Matinance this is what happens.

My seatbelt didn't work at all the last time I was on!

This is not good...anyone have any information on when they might be re-opening????

ETA: The Lines app and UT app are both showing wait times for Soarin' in Epcot today. ???

Could open as soon as today or a week Im betting on sooner rather than later with TT being closed!

According to another thread, it is back open again in Epcot. The Lines app had it listed as offline until about an hour ago. Now wait times are being submitted. :thumbsup2

Looks like they rushed a fix it may be open!

I was hoping for a fire like the Tiki Room since the ride is in such horrendous shape!

Yesterday it was reported that a couple guests slipped out of their seatbelts. CMs saw the guests standing on the floor when the ride lifted up.

This is when both DCA and Epcot's attractions were immediately closed. There was not a ride failure.

hmm your post is a little confusing. how did they slip out of their seatbelts? were they simply not done up correctly? or even at all?

Nope they simply weren't working when I rode earlier in the week my belt simply didn't work. A 400 pound person could have slipped through.

Darn.... I was hoping OSHA shut it down for having the cruddiest screens in history. Seatbelts I haven't had much of a problem with, but man they REALLY need to do something with their screens. Personally, I think they need to ditch projection and switch to digital, the reel looks horrid.

that would be pretty shocking for anyone and potentially pretty dangerous for people in the front rows surely?!

So was it not locking? I thought they'd have the sensors indicate that and not run the attraction if so.

They put them on so they could get out without unlatching them. If this is confusing try putting some string around your wriste in a way you can get it off.

I really can't see doing a full Soarin' movie just over Florida. Not enough diversity of terrain, vertically. Digital projection I fully agree with though.
