Soarin heights

Can anyone tell me approximately how high off the ground you are on during Soarin? I know it varies depending on what row you are in. But what's the range like? I recently went on it for the first time and didn't realize it would be so high up in the air. I was super uncomfortable with only having a seatbelt to harness me. If I ever do it again I need to request whatever row is the lowest.

1st row - 45 feet

2nd row - 30 feet

3rd row - 15 feet


So not too high but definitely high for anyone with fear of heights.

The front row gets about 40 feet off the ground.
So request row 3.

As long as you don't lean forward there should be norhting to worry about.
Lean bad and enjoy the ride.

I sat on the end on Sunday, it was uncomfortable when looking down. You definitely don't want on an end.

Heh, glad I'm not the only one. When I went on Soarin in DCA I walked in going "aww, this is a cute little ride. and so nice and simple and look, it's not even high! ...wow, that sure does kinda suck with that big old bar in front of us and I wonder what that big old shallow dish is in front of us OH GOD WE'RE MOVING WHY ARE WE GOING UP HOLY F-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and then I settled down after a couple of seconds. Now I want to be on the end Just to see what it's like. I also wanna do the top row. 45 ft is pretty high up for me though. We'll see. OP, stuff yourself in the middle, slide the belt through the loop and settle in for the ride. Then you're kinda in a bottom harness instead of just a seatbelt

Keep in mind that if you are looking at the screen, instead of down, you should have zero concept of height. Even then, looking down is basically darkness.

Really depends on where you are sitting, sometimes you can be very aware of your "location." For folks with no fear they probably won't notice but those of us who are afraid will notice lots of things that can be unnerving. There is some glow on the floor due to all the screens in the CM "tower".

I can appreciate and respect that.

You can run the seatbelt through "kiddie buckle" to make yourself more secure. The kid's loop comes up between your legs and you run the seat belt through it.

That was going to be my suggestion. Then you won't feel like you're going to slip out.
From my perspective, I had NO IDEA Soarin' even went that high. I felt like I was maybe ten feet off the ground when we were in the top row. I can see what other people have said about height-afraid people noticing that stuff more, though. (Personally, I'm afraid of edges, not heights, so the seatbelt made me feel perfectly safe.)

Ditto. I wish they had a bar going across too. I no longer go on Soarin as I can't get over feeling like I am going to topple out. The kiddie loop did nothing to help that feeling either.

I rode Soarin' many times from the front row before one time I looked down and I was shocked at how high I actually was. Heights don't really bother me or anything (I thought it was cool), but it's definitely deceptive.

I agree with previous posters that if you feel insecure, use the kiddie strap for that extra peace of mind.

I enjoy leaning over and looking down as soon as we go up so my wife can yell at me to sit back lol
