Oh my goodness! Your girls are too cute for words!! They look so sweet in their school uniforms. :goodvibes

Oh, the kids look so cute in their school uniforms. My kids started back on the 19th. My DD started a new school this year for 1st grade and my son started 10th grade at high school. I wish my kids had to wear uniforms, it would make life so much easier! Do you have to wear a uniform to university? Good luck with school!

Adorable!

All kids in the UK have to wear uniforms. Some schools are better at enforcing it than others but most children wear it. It is handy not to have to buy nice things for school and it keeps all the kids the same no matter what their parents can afford to buy. In that sense I think it is great. I think they look really smart in it and it is comfy to wear too.

No uniform for me I'm afraid!!!!!

Sorry for the lack of updates. I started university on Monday and I am knackered and snowed under already. Trying to manage a 9-5 course, travel and 2 kids is proving to be a challenge!!! I need 34 hour days I think! I am working on the next days update so hopefully I'll get it up tomorrow night.

Hope all are well and I am slowly catching up with everyone's reports!!

OK I have seriously been neglecting this TR! I have trying to keep up with everyone else's TRs that I have had no time to update my own!!!!

University is going really well. I survived 2 weeks so far!! Timetable is very intense - pretty much 9am - 12pm Monday to Friday. The work is full on but really enjoying it! I have got my placement at the school that I helped at last year and am in a P4 class (7-8 year olds) which is great. I am in for the odd day here and there and then mid October I am there for 6 weeks teaching practice.

Anyway back to business!!!!!!

So its Wednesday and our last full day in WDW! :sad2::sad2: Today we are splitting up! There is serious shopping to be done before we leave tomorrow but the girls are not keen on that plan. So as I have not really seen anything that I want to go and buy I volunteer to have the girls for the day! So it was a really tough decision but as they were trekking round the shops the girls and I are off to the Magic Kingdom!!!!!!! Yay!!!!! :yay: I think I got the best end of the deal. The plan is to do a character hunt. Mum, Dad and DH would not have enjoyed lining for characters anyway and I am happy to indulge the girls! So again we set off for rope drop.

We were dropped off at the TTC with plans to keep the mobile phones on to make a plan for meeting later. I told them I had no preference for time and they could take as long as they wanted. Afterall it is not exactly difficult to keep 2 girls entertained in the MK and not to enjoy every single second. The one aim we did have though was to get some fast passes to use that night as we had an ADR for Crystal Palace.

So as I said the main aim today was to meet characters! Top of the list? Tinkerbell of course! We make plans to pick up fast passes for Peter Pan for later tonight so head from rope drop towards Fantasyland. We notice the stepmother and stepsisters and E can’t resist stopping. K had no intention of even getting out the buggy so she watched from there. Anytime we have seen these characters they are brilliant.

Heard the CM say that sometimes they drop the rope at Toontown early if it is busy. Hope they don’t do that today. After E was finished we went to the Tea cups and had a ride as there was no line. We picked up fast passes for Peter Pan and parked the buggy at the tea cups and left it there.
We went to the rope for toontown and we were at the front. There were 2 girls there trying to keep everyone busy and chatting to everyone. I heard them say “has anyone got a special talent?’ and the next thing I knew E’s hand shot up and she was taken to the other side of the rope. I stood and thought “what on earth is she going to do???”. She informed the crowd that her talent was acrobatics! She did a few very good cartwheels and got a round of applause. She is not slow in coming forwards is E! After a few more talents!!!! They got ready to drop the rope. They invited some kids to come help sprinkle dust and E volunteered and to my surprise so did K. Here they are doing the countdown!

So I scooped up K and off we set for the Fairies line. We were very near the front and we still had about 15 min wait. It is not a fast moving line. We finally got into the corridor to Pixie Hollow and it was really cute. Eventually the doors opened and we were greeted by Rosetta. She was lovely and very in character.

P1040525.jpg

After Rosetta we were greeted by Tinkerbell and E and K both loved the interaction with her. She was fantastic. Spoke just right – very fast and flittery!

P1040532.jpg

Then it was time for Iridesa. The fairies costumes were really beautiful and they all interacted well together.

P1040535.jpg

We left Pixie Hollow and rejoined the line for the Princesses this time. There was no line at all and we were straight to the front. K was very excited to meet the princesses. In no time we were in and met Cinderella, Belle and Aurora. They were all really sweet to them and both girls were in awe.

On the way out of the building E spotted the penguin from Mary Poppins and K took off in that direction. They were just ending a meet and greet session but luckily we made it in time. She loved him!

P1040579.jpg

E spotted the barnstormer and really wanted to ride so we got in line – there was no line!!!! We went straight to the front but K said she didn’t want to ride. E was happy to go on by herself so she still got to enjoy it.
Now there was no way we were going to be able to avoid have a little look inside Minnie and Mickey’s houses!!! Now, ladies first – so we started with Minnie. The girls had a great time looking at all the furniture and especially liked snooping round her kitchen.

P1040591.jpg

I liked this notice pinned to her notice board especially given my new career choice!!!!

P1040597.jpg

The girls loved Minnie's mail box!

P1040611.jpg

After Minnie’s it was time for her favourite friend – Mickey! We looked round and had a great time exploring his garden with all the odd shaped veggies.

At the Judge’s tent I asked the CM how long the wait was – 20 mins – not too bad so I ask the girls if they would like to meet Mickey and the answer was a resounding yes! So we got in the line. I thought it was a bit strange that the line seemed not to move at all. Every 5 or 6 mins some people were let in then nothing. Needless to say 20 mins came and went and we had hardly got anywhere. It didn’t take me long to suss out that we were going to be there for a long time. I asked E if she wanted to wait that long and she wasn;t too bothered. Sadly for us K would not be moved from that line no matter what I tried to bribe her with! So we waited and waited and over an hour later we finally got in to see the main man. To our delight he was joined by his squeeze Minnie! It was nice to have their pic taken with both Minnie and Mickey and the CM offered to take my pic with them too which was fun.

So all the toontown things done we headed back to where we left the buggy and move towards the other side of the park.......

What a great mom you are... giving up shopping to spend the day in the MK with your sweet girls! I know it wasn't a hard decision! ;)
I'm happy you got to see so many characters, good job hunting them down!
It's hard to believe you are at your last day... :sad2: It's always hard to say goodbye!
So you are now busy with school! Were you happy with your placement?

A whole morning spent meeting characters sounds much better than shopping!

Great character meet and greets. To bad you had to wait so long for Minnie & Mickey, but the pictures are great. I'm glad that school is going great!

The girls look so cute in their school outfits!

I hope school is going well for you.

All the character pictures are cute, but the last one of you and the girls with Mickey is awesome!

I know. What a huge sacrifice to give up the Florida Mall for wandering around my fave place in the world!!!

School is great but such hard work and is taking over my life!!!! Having a lunch break now so catching up on some posts. My placement class are P4 so 7 and 8 year olds. Really enjoying it so far!

It really was!!!!!!

Wait wasn't too bad really when i think about it. i guess we were just really spoiled with short wait times for almost everything!

Thanks! They look lovely going off in them. School is good. Tired though!!! Wishing I had some WDW dates in my plan but no such luck as yet!

We left off heading from our character encounters in ToonTown Fair towards Adventureland. We are not even over the bridge when E spots more characters! Rafiki and the little raccoon from Pocahontas were in the covered area by the bridge so into the line she goes! K decides to pass on this one and waits safely in her buggy!!!!!! She does however pass on strict instructions to her sister to get their autographs in her book too!

Soon after I get a call from DH saying that sorry but they are going to be a bit longer than they thought they would be. Don’t worry I tell him – we are fine. I hang up and tell the girls. We let out a wee woop! and decided what more we can get up to! Next up is the Flying Carpets of Aladdin. K decides she doesn’t like this one and has to be dragged into the line. I was telling her she loved it last time but she is not to be convinced. E really wants to ride so I persevere. Just as I expected K loved it as much as E did and they took great delight in getting splashed by the big camels. When it stopped K had a hissy fit and wanted to ride again! So back to the end of the line we went. There was virtually no line anyway so not a problem.
Then our time for Peter Pan comes round so we head to Splash Mountain to get a fast pass for later on. E really wants to ride Splash and I can’t take K on so we will get one to use later in the evening when we come back. When we are there the girls have a wee play in the play area by the fast pass machines. K is looking shattered to say the least! E finds a little Hidden Mickey inside the climbing frame.

By this time they are getting past hungry so we decide to head back to main street and look for some lunch. We were walking past Pecos Bill café and realised I had never been in there! It was also starting to spit with rain so we thought we would give it a go. It was huge! I have no idea why I thought this was a small place. It was mobbed too but after getting ourselves a burger and fries and things to share we eventually found a table. K managed a few bites then asked to get in her buggy and fell asleep. E and I had a lovely lunch and actually got the chance to chat about our trip and what we liked best etc. She has really has the best time and she said she was a bit sad about going home – she wasn’t the only one!
All fed and watered we go back outside and take the chance of peace to have a look round the shops. A cast member tells E that in 30 mins Aladdin and Jasmine are coming out to do autographs! How could I say no so we got in line behind another family and waited. There were a few drops of rain but it came to nothing. Eventually they came out. I love meeting those characters – Jasmine always looks so beautiful. When it was time for E’s turn she asked them to sign her “Kids guide” aswell as K’s autograph book. They searched her book and found Morocco and signed it there too. There were so interested in her book they almost forgot we were all there!

P1040635.jpg

After E got her photo taken they said bring up the buggy so I did. They all crouched down by her and gave me one of my fave photos of the trip.

P1040636.jpg

E - the beady eyed little creature that she is - spots Aloha Isle and what could we do? We shared a Dole Whip Float! K even wakes and joins us - it was delicious.

P1040617.jpg

At that point DH called again and said they were on the way and would meet me in 30 mins. So we made our way slowly down Main Street stopping in some shops.
At the TTC they were waiting for us and we hopped in the car and made our way back to the villa. We were home there for about 2. Just enough time for me to do a serious amount of packing and get ready for this evenings fun!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the picture of K asleep with E, Jasmine and Aladdin!! That is just great! They really had fun with that one! What did K think of it when she saw the photo? Very cute! :thumbsup2
