Soarin' FP strategy - would this work?!

We are going between Christmas & New Year's so I'm guessing Soarin' will be out of FP early, probably before noon ?

On Friday (non-EMH day at EPCOT) I planned to do AK in the morning and EP in the evening. If we wait until we get there all the FPs will probably be gone?

SO I was thinking of going to EP from AK, get a couple Soarin' FPs and head back to the hotel to rest. Only thing is, DM will probably be tired and not willing to go.

How about... I go to EP with key cards/admission thingies. Go to EPCOT enter with my ticket, get one FP for Soarin', leave the park, reenter right away with DM's ticket, and get the 2nd FP ?

We went off season and the FP's had gone by noon, so definitely make sure you get there early if you want a FP, or you'll be waiting in the standby line (which, during the supposed slow season was a 60-70 minute wait!!)

Anyway about your strategy I'm a little confused TBH! It may work, it may not, it all depends on whether the CM at the gate checks your ticket, if you're using one that isn't yours it could get you into trouble. Of course you could just say it was an accident and you meant to put yours in but it seems like a heck of a lot of effort just for a FP!!

Overplan away particularly if it saves you time, it means you get to do more.

Is there anyway you could go to Epcot first? Or failing that - ride Soarin just before park close - it'll be a lot quieter then!!

We'll be going to early EMH at AK that morning - 7am!! YIKES.
It's OK, we have another morning planned for EP, with early EMH, so we'll get to do Soarin' then. For that first evening we'll stick to WS and Illuminations! Or, you never know, maybe we'll walk in on Soarin. Sure thang!

I havent been with the new finger scan ticket, but when you try to re enter with your husbands, wont it see its not his finger and reject the ticket? I suppose you could re enter with your own tho--does it recognize its the same day so not use "another day" of ticket? Maybe just not worry about it- and go right at the end, when its not so bad.

Oops I'd forgotten about the finger scan thing. You definitely won't be able to do that then

There'd be no point in re-entering with your own ticket, you'd still only be able to get one FP! Both tickets need to be activated at the gate to be able to acquire a fastpass inside.

Oh well. Too bad then.. It seems like the FPs will be gone before we get there anyhow.
I hoped the new Nemo ride would get some of the crowd away from Soarin' but apparently that aint gonna happen!

You could have DM go over to Epcot with you, enter the park, and just sit on a bench while you ran for fast passes. Know you said they wouldn't want to go there, but maybe if all they had to do was enter, they'd be willing.

Yeah I thought of that. Get her in, put her on a bench somewhere with a cup o' java and go get the FPs. The only thing is, if I make her take a bus to Epcot and they're out of FPs already, she's going to complain about it for a week. And when we come back home. And every time we talk about Disney. That's my Mamma
We have an ADR at 10am at Donald's in AK and planned to leave right after, so we would make it to Epcot around noonish. Do you think it'll be too late?
