Last night just decided to take a Mother/Son trip with DS16 and we're thinking of trying some new choices for dinners that we've never been to.

Thinking about Spirit of Aloha or Hoop-De-Doo. I've read various reviews. Would making an ADR this late affect your choice due to seating arrangements? We'll be there at the end of January.

The one reason I am thinking about the luau is because the Polynesian is his "dream" resort. Unable to get ADR for Ohana's. We're staying at OKW.

Thanks.

I just did a quick random check for availability at the end of Jan, and it looks like you could get into either show.

I would go with HDDR for two reasons:

1. It's an absolute blast. We've been many times and always had an awful lot of fun. And we like the food too.

2. SOA is done in an outdoor venue. Depending on the weather, this may not be very comfortable- January can have really chilly evenings.

They will cancel SOA if temps fall below 50 which is always a possibility in January.

This. I wouldn't risk it. We were reserved for SOA at the end of March once, and they canceled it because temps dropped below 50. I'm surprised SOA is shown in January considering the temps.

We've done the Luau many years ago...and it wasn't our cup of tea, not entertaining at all and food choises are awful.....for us a total waste of money and never to return to..

HDDR, been over 15 times and never gets old...even though it's the same show we enjoy it and laugh like we've never seen it before.....food is decent, dessert top notch and drinks are endless (beer, wine, soda) and it's indoors and quite chilly inside....

You shouldn't have a problem getting a reservation this late for January, January seems to be a slow time but I wouldn't wait too long...later seatings seem to have more room........

Thanks everyone. Looks like we're going to make an ADR for HDDR. I'm really looking forward to it.
