Well I survived the surprise party and we all had plenty of food and great company. The rest of the night has been rough.
I let our dogs in and noticed my dog wasn't feeling good so off to the vet as she's the one that eats rocks. I kept hoping that wasn't the problem, but the xrays showed a large rock in her small intestine so we had to make to painful decision to put her down. This is the third time she's done this, one passed on it's own with meds and hospitalization, the second required surgery and we couldn't keep this up any longer, she's only 18 months old. Even the vet staff couldn't come up with any solution as we've tried everything to get her to quit over the last year, changed food, rotated toys, added a second fenced in area of the yard to keep her away from the gravel driveway. Rest in Peace Lily (our Brittany Spaniel).
