It's a rainy rainy Monday. I overslept and didn't make it to my Chiropractor this morning so I'm still in bed with Milo sleeping on my feet. We have leftover waffles from yesterday so I think that will be breakfast. We also have leftover bacon which will hopefully combine with "L" and "T" to make lunch.

Hi all! Usnuz & Queenie, hope you're both feeling better!

Spent Sat with DH, did our usual afternoon movie & dinner at a local steak place. I'm beginning to think a lot of places are dropping the quality of meat instead of increasing the prices. The steaks are getting bad no matter where we go. Guess I should start eating more salmon & chicken.

Watched the football games yesterday.. DH is a Pats fan so he's happy. DD is a 49er's fan, she's not. Me? My Sabres are tanking big time so who cares about football!

Oh and there will be more to come after this Friday, we are dining at Napa Rose with folks who will hopefully become newfound friends.

Where is it that you live that places can do this? I know in our neck of the woods there are a lot of "Prime" steakhouses that would never touch the quality of their meat because that's what they're know for. Of course we haven't been to one of those in quite some time! The place we went with Usnuz is also known as a steakhouse, but I haven't had a steak there in a while.

We don't have a lot of independently owned restaurants where we live unless you count coffee shops or Asian restaurants or the high end restaurants. If you want steak here, it's the Prospector (bascially cheap), Outhouse (errrr I mean Outback), Black Angus, Sizzler or one of the independently owned places where you order everything ala carte and your steak alone costs almost $50.

We like the Prospector, Rib Eye for about $14.95 including soup, salad, potato, toast and relish tray plus custard dessert bite. $12.95 if it's on special!

Can you think of a ranch name that goes on menus with steak? I'm trying to think of this one that is on most of the menus around me. It gives it a specialty feel though it's actual a huge ranch in California, though I suspect it's really a ranching co op at best, and more likely a feed lot that buys from independents.
