I haven't had an update about my grandmother yet. Her surgery was at 6pm Pacific time, so it should be over by now, or close to being over. Because my parents are in Wisconsin and in a rural area, cell reception is really spotty.

That's hard, isn't it. Knowing that it's all over but not knowing how it worked out???

I hope so too I sent my mom a text, since texts tend to get through more easily than a call will when they're up at the cabin, but I'm pretty sure they're already asleep, since it's almost 11pm here

Yeah, and since it's 9pm there now, I don't want to call and risk them transferring me to her room and waking her up if she's sleeping. So I'll just wait for tomorrow and see what happens then.

You could just call to inquire how the surgery went. They won't transfer you unless you ask????

I hope you find out news soon. As you are family one would hope you could call someone to find out? Including the hospital.
But either way I hope things have gone as well as hoped.

Yes it's always an issue of privacy. When my gran was in hospital my mum had been there and they were familiar with her so she could call any time to get information. But without the connection. Maybe not
