So I was reading on another thread about people "retiring" to Disney.. I have to say I think it is a pretty cool concept.. .I wouldn't mind at all working at Disney....and thus, that brought me to my question....

You have just been awareded any job you want at Disney... What is it??? :cool1:

Personally - I think it would be cool to be a Monorail Driver...

I would love to drive the buses! The complete opposite of my current job. :teacher:

Our family has talked about this many times! Thanks for the fun thread! We decided my DS 12 is going to be an Imagineer, DD8 will be Belle, my DH and I will retire to the World to be close to them- my DH as a boat captain, and me, I'll sell pins under the big hat! :cloud9: Disney dreams are wonderful!

I don't know if this is a real job or not - I would like to work at the parks - any one of them, and fix peoples problems. If they are having a really bad day or have had "issues" with something or someone, I would like to help fix it and make their day better.

From what I understand from someone I knew who married a CM(if you can follow that :confused3 ), every CM has the ability (and kinda the duty) to create some magic if they see a guest having a bad experience.

I hope that is still true.

Oh, my dream retirement would include 3-4 months a year as a CM, 1st choice would be a boat captain. But I wouldn't even mind sweeping up.

Add me to the monorail driver list. Heck, I'd be happy to be the person that opens the gates so people can board it.

Or I want to work in Space Mountain.

Only 29 more years until I am 65!

I'd like the job of reading the DIS all day and summarizing the comments. :disrocks:

Personally (this is my "real life" dream too) I'd love to help plan events at Disney. To be able to take a guest's request of "something princess-y" and turn their event, wedding, resort room into a total princess retreat would be incredible. I also wouldn't mind being a photopass photographer.

Ok back to reality and answering the ringing phone....:rotfl:

I, also, wouldn't mind being a Photopass Photographer... specifically in MK...I think it would be awesome to see kids and adults a like get that first glimpse of the castle and to be able to capture that for them... I know I cried when I saw it for the first time last year....

You're probably thinking "dork"? right... :rotfl:

the only thing i would want to do is somehting in guest relations. like right now they have the dream team. thats what i would want to do, walk around and make peoples dreams come true.

Considering I don't think I would be able to deal with the heat day in, day out, every single day 365 days a year- I would say I would like to work in one of the shops or work at a front desk at a resort or taking reservations at CRO.

This has been an on going discussion with my family......I remember as a child I wanted to be Minnie Mouse (just the right height 5'1), but when I retire I think I would love to be "The Fairy Godmother" at Cinderellas castle.:cutie: For now however, I'm happy being a "Mom":laundy:

DH and I are actually going to try to move down to Orlando next year to work for Disney. We are super excited!!! It's something we've always talked about doing, and so we are going to try it before we start trying to have kids. I'm really hoping to get into merchandising. DH hasn't made up his mind what he wants to do yet. I told him though, I really don't care if I'm working third shift sweeping up the MK as long as I have a mouse on my paycheck!! :thumbsup2

This type of discussion is a better fit on the Theme Parks Community board, so I'm going to go ahead and move it over there now.

DS19 would love to be in charge of Illuminations every night. DD17 thinks it'd be a hoot to pilot a Jungle Cruise boat. DH would love to drive the train (or monorail), and I'd be happy working in a gift shop such as Tinkerbells Treasures.

I want to be a Wedding Planner at Disney World. I want to be a Wedding Planner anyhow..but to do it at Disney, WOW!

My 2nd choice would be the Fairy Godmother..I think I could pull it off! ;)

No, I don't!!! My first trip to WDW was in Dec 06 and when we walked into MK, I was overwhelmed!!!:lovestruc ;) I was fine until we watched the Wishes fireworks and I seen Tinkerbell fly across and then the show started. I started crying so hard!!!:wizard: My DF turned to me and said are you ok? I said yeah!! I just can't believe that I'm actually here!!!!:wizard: :wizard: Thank you so much for bringing me here!!! I'm actually typing this through tears as I'm reembering that day!!! I Love You WDW!!!! Thank you so much for being a part of our lives!!!!

But, back to the topic at hand, I'm not really sure what I'd want to be....either a front desk person or a CM who does the parades and stuff at night...you know the ones that entertain the crowds?? My DF said that his would be to water down Main Street after the park closes!!! That's his ultimate dream!!!:cloud9: :cloud9:

would like to be one of the dancers in one of the shows or parades. At this point though, I think I have past the age requirement.
