My family loves to play what we call "Disney Games"...especially on our long flights to WDW and back.

Here's our latest WWYD...and I wanted some opinions from the DIS.

We are a family of five. Dh and me, plus kiddos who are 21, 19, and 11. We usually book two rooms at POP for our stays (two weeks at a time), because two bathrooms pretty much trumps everything else...and the price is right.

So, if you were in our situation and given a pixie dust upgrade to a deluxe resort (standard room...not a suite) would you take it? I said I would, but not all my kiddos agreed. :confused3

WWYD, oh wise DISers?

I assume this upgrade is just one room?

Anyway, as a family of 5, we would take the upgrade. While 2 rooms in a value is our main choice due to price, we've done 5 in a room just fine (most recently HRH at Universal). We would love the shot at being closer to a park and having a better pool area.

BUT, with our 2 oldest being boys, bathroom really does not trump all else for us. DH, DS16 and DS13 can be showered and ready to go out the door in mere minutes. (combined) I like having 2 TV's - the boys can watch sports and DD can watch kids shows and then everyone leaves me alone, LOL, but for the small amount of time we spend in our room, it's not worth the sacrifice of an upgrade.

That's what I was thinking, but my dd (who loves having the two bathrooms) couldn't imagine having to share one with two brothers and her dad. It would be cramped, but I think the pool would make up for that.

When they were younger we always just shared one room at the Disneyland hotel and that worked well.

Do the 21 and 19 hang the whole time with family? Having the 2 rooms allow some to stay out later and not distrupt the rest of the family. Besides mom and dad might like some privacy, kick the kids to one room;)

Stay with Pop. my experiences have taught me that when you have a family tradition that is oh so familiar, changing it up can mess with the trip. We made a few changes to our normal WDW routine two years ago and we didn't adapt well. Stick with what you know! But hey, everyone is different so what works for me might not work for everyone! Whatever you do, have a magic:wizard:al time!
