And what do you think of it so far? I've mainly been watching the woman's gymnastics this week, and last nights was particularly exciting as it went right down to the wire between the 2 'hot favourites'. And that tumbling they do on the floor and beam - incredible :o

And did you know that the Russian girl Khorkina who came 2nd...she looks really, really tall and leggy next to all the other girls? She's still only 5'5"!

What about the show-jumping controvesy too, things that make you go hmmm...

Waiting for the trampolining this afternoon - son a trampolinist, so has been told to watch. Kirsten bounces at a local club to us - so here's good luck to her today.

Other than that enjoying what I have seen so far - swimming, archery, gymnastics to name a few!

Jane

I've been on annual leave this week, so have had more time than usual to watch ;)

I haven't had any particular favourites, but I've been pleased that the organisation, etc., has proved the media doom-and-gloom forecasts wrong - it's all going really well, isn't it?
(Hope I haven't spoken too soon ! )

I've watched the Olympics as much as my marriage will allow (DW not into sport :) ).

I've been watching quite a bit.
The 3 day eventing is a farce. My 9 year old son competes (as do I) and he has had it drummed into him that you NEVER go through the start line twice, before OR after the bell rings. We were at a Pony Club show last month and another competitor was penalised for doing just that and that was a 10yrs and under class!!!!!!!!!!

Only the Beach Volleyball for some reason...:cheer2:

OMG she's only 5'5" she looks soooo tall and lanky how funny - actually I was thinking she'd make a great catwalk model but now I know she's that tall she'll have to think of another career change. I desperately wanted Carly to win as she had such a bad time of it during the team finals.

So yeah I've been watching quite a lot of it - I've really enjoyed the gymnastics. I've watched the canoeing, archery, badminton, judo, sailing and swimming. So glad that the track and field has started Denise didn't do so well this morning :(

I've been looking out for the Synchro Swimming - have I missed it ?

Come on GB&NI we're right behind you :bounce:

Me!! Quite addicted to it now:) Looking forward to the Marathon on Sunday with Paula Radcliffe :bounce:

We've been watching it since it started...

OMG I couldn't watch the badmington final...it was soooo nerve wracking:eek:

I've been watching as much as I can when time will allow - my younger son is glued to it as he loves sport!

The Olympics give such a great opportunity to see sports you normally don't see!

There has been synchronised diving Sam - which may sound strange and of course synchronised swimming with the nose clips and the manic grinning may spring to your mind ;) - but it was amazing to watch (and no-one grinned or wore noseclips :teeth: ) - think of the diving competition but with an extra person trying to mirror the other diver.

I love the gymnastics but missed too much of it.

Some of the venues, combining the ancient with the modern are stunning aren't they? e.g. the archery, the shotput.

I'm watching and listening to every minute I can get!

So exciting this morning!

I watched the opening ceremony and will watch the closing but not really interested at anything in between.

DBF has been glued to it though.

Yeah I saw some of the synchro Diving Shirley but I much orefere the Synchro swimming which according to the BBC website starts tomorrow - woo-hoo !!!

The rowing was awesome we set the alarm yesterday for 7am so we could watch all 3 finals that the Brits were in :)

Did you watch the marathon - poor Paula!!

I really felt for her - she is still a brilliant athlete!!

Saturday was a brilliant day for GB :) ! The rowing was marvellous :) !!

And the 100 metre heats, semis and finals were so exciting!

I felt very badly for Paula Radcliffe but I do think there was a lot of overkill before the event and perhaps they would do well to cut down on all the interviews and avoid such high expectations before the event?

Still not seen so much as a noseclip yet Sam :teeth:

Wasn't Kelly Holmes brilliant last night though - I was positively screaming at her to watch out on her outside in the last few metres, LOL!

A fantastic medal - she so deserved it too :)

Especially for Sam and her syncronised swimming - Google are obviously looking forward to it too :teeth:

I've been watching loads of the Olympics and loving it! Not so keen on some sports, but am hooked to others and GB seem to be doing far better than originally anticipated which is great.

Was rivetted by the women's weight lifting on Sunday - good grief!!

Pete and I were screaming at the television last night when Kelly Holmes was running the 800metres, it was so exciting and she did fantastically. The only two medals won so far by GB in athletics have been by women - come on you guys!! :)

Sam - I still haven't spotted any synchronised swimming!

Astrid

Heres the synchronised schedule. Bit late though.. BBC coverage has been great this time on a lot of what are considered more minor events so I guess we didn't have anyone in these ......
